Rice Krispie Treats

Yesterday afternoon, the kids made rice krispie treats and had so much fun!

After I set Jackson up in his chair and told them to start stirring, the first thing he did was put the spatula in his mouth!  This picture makes me laugh because the woman is doing all the work while the man is eating!  Ha!  I swear, if a football game had been on, Jackson and his spatula would have been in the den!

Awhile back, I got Jack and Sarah their own spatulas--a blue one and a pink one.  I didn't plan on them wearing shirts that matched their spatulas, but it's funny how it turned out!

Look at how Sarah is putting the whole spatula in her mouth...classy!

After the treats cooled, the kids used Halloween cookie cutters that we had in our stash to make shapes.  While they were cutting them out, I put one in a baggie for Bryan's lunch, and Jack was not happy that I was taking one away!

They both had fun making--and eating!--the rice krispie treats!

Starbucks Date

This morning, Bryan and I woke up early.  He got up to shower before going in for his call shift, and I got up to make his lunch.  When Bryan's on call on the weekend, it usually means it's going to be a long weekend.  He's gone all day on Saturday, and when he gets home on Sunday morning, we eat breakfast, he watches a little bit of Sports Center with Jackson, then crashes until dinner's ready.  So, to add a little out of the ordinary fun into our day, I decided to take the kids to Starbucks this morning.

We each got a drink and then shared vanilla and blueberry scones.  It was wonderful!

I had the best time--simply spending time--with Sarah and Jackson!  I enjoyed drinking them in, (even more than I enjoyed drinking in my non-fat, with whip, salted caramel mocha!).  I just love being with them, looking at their faces, listening to them talk.

After about 8 tries, this was the best picture I got of all 3 of us with my phone!  Ha!  Jackson's not looking, and he has food in his mouth--as you can tell by his huge cheek!--Sarah's face is blurry because she was laughing--and thus, moving!--and part of my face didn't even make it in!  I don't care though; I love this picture!

Rain Boots

Yesterday, it was very cold and very rainy.  I loved it!  So, Jackson and I stayed in our jammies all day while we played, colored, watched Blue's Clues, and read books.  It was perfect!
But alas, we had to actually get dressed to go pick Sarah up from school.  And since it was raining...

...we both wore our rain boots!

1, 2, 3!

After our annual trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend, we stopped for lunch on the way home.  After eating, Bryan and I started holding Jackson's hand on the way to the car.  Jack didn't really want us to hold his hands though, because he wanted to run!  So we thought we could try doing the ol' "1, 2, 3, wee!" trick.  We'd never done this with Jackson, and he loved it!  Not only was it fun, but it make him forget that he wanted to run!  After doing it a few times, I asked Sarah to take our picture.

Love!

A Colorful Pumpkin

Last Fall, I saw this post on finger painting pumpkins, and I knew I wanted to do it with the kiddos this year.  Instead of using a real pumpkin like they did though, I decided to buy a fake one from Hobby Lobby, (40% off, baby!), so we can put it out each Halloween.

After making the pumpkin's face with our trusty painter's tape, I got the finger paint out and let the wee ones go to town!

 They always loving painting!

While the paint was still wet, I peeled off the tape revealing the pumpkin's face.  This picture doesn't do the adorable pumpkin justice.  It's not gray in person--it's really colorful!

I put it next to the ghost feet and "boo" pumpkin that we made last year!

Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday, we went to the Pumpkin Patch!  It's our favorite thing to do in the fall!  And this was our family's 10th year going to the Pumpkin Patch!

We thought Jackson's wagon would be a perfect fit while we were picking pumpkins!

Jack was trying to get a pumpkin that was just his size!

Love these faces!

J helped himself to a seat on each pumpkin stack that he saw, so it was easy to have Sarah sit down with him and take their picture!

Pretty Sarah

After looking at all of the pumpkins, the kids went through the hay maze together.

I just love this picture of Jackson walking across the bridge.

Love my two guys!

Sarah is such a great big sister to Jackson!

Look at the sweetness!

One of Sarah's favorite parts of the pumpkin patch is visiting the horses.

Jack decided that he wanted to pull his wagon...

...even though it's bigger than he is!

Bryan snapped this picture after Jackson had just thrown a fit--and I don't even recall why!  Luckily, I'd packed a couple of juice boxes, so his mood quickly changed!

Even though I'm not looking at the camera and my hair's a mess, I love Sarah's face in this picture!

One of the pumpkins Sarah picked out for us to take home.  These pumpkins were called Baby Jacks!  : )

Daddy and Jack going through the hay maze together.  Their faces are so intense, as if they can't find the exit!

Our last stop was the apple train!  Look at those smiles!

I love this one!

 That's all folks!
