Graduation Just Around the Corner!

Bryan's medical school graduation is just two and a half months away! Today he is ordering his cap and gown--we had to measure his huge head this morning!

Sarah has Glasses!

A couple of weeks ago, Sarah told me that she was having trouble seeing in class. So, we got her an appointment with our optometrist. Sarah was so excited when she was picking out these red glasses! And she was even more excited when they called yesterday letting us know that they were ready to be picked up. Isn't she just the cutest in them?!

Bryan's Coming Home!!

Bryan is on his way home from Liberty right now! He finally finished his last away rotation! He's been on more out of town rotations than I can count, but he will never have to go out of town again!! We're so excited that I don't know if my usual "hot dog" will do it justice!!

Sarah and I made this "Welcome Home" banner last night. As you can tell, on some of them, Sarah went sticker crazy! We also decorated the sidewalk leading up to the front porch for him!

Birthday Party!

Saturday afternoon, we had Sarah's birthday party at The Little Gym in Keller! Sarah and the other kiddos had a ball!
Sarah posing for a picture on the balance beams! Daddy playing "Snake in the Grass" with the kids. He had to keep away from the snakes on the ground so he ran around the mat as fast as he could while jumping over the little ones! It was so funny to watch! Daddy still running! Daddy finally got tagged, and now he's one of the snakes. After all of the running and crawling around, Daddy needed a nap! Sarah and Amy getting off of the bounce mat together. If you look closely, you can see Amy's little brother Robert getting off of the mat as well--just not as gracefully! He is the cutest! Sarah's butterfly cupcake-cake.
I think after all of the playing, the kids were ready to eat...case in point, Amy eyeing the cake!!
Now Sarah looks hungry as she thinks to herself, "Yummy!"
Peeling off the wrappers before chowing down!
Bouncing around, then cupcakes with tons o' frosting...is there anything better?!
Sarah and Amy stopping for a picture! They are the best of friends!
Robert and Amy helping Sarah open the book they got her.
Sally showing Sarah read the card she made. All the friends helping!

Amy, Sally, and Peren all offering up their unwrapping assistance. Those are great friends!
Sarah and Amy excited about the adorable new clothes!

Birthday Presents!

Friday night, I told Sarah that if she wanted to stay up to see Daddy when he got home, we would open her gifts then. Although by 10:00 when he arrived, she was pretty pooped, she was so excited to see him! She was also looking forward to opening her presents!
Daddy reading Sarah's birthday card to her. Sarah trying to decide which part to open next! One of the adorable dresses that Daddy picked out for her while he was in Liberty.
Sarah trying on her chef's outfit!
Sarah just loved playing this game at preschool, so she asked for it for her birthday. We played it on Saturday morning, and yes, she won!
Another game that is fun to play!

Sarah loves books, so we try to get her some new ones on each gift giving occasion.

Happy Birthday, Sarah!

We cannot believe Sarah is already 6! (Although sometimes it feels like she's turning 32!) Last night I baked her a carrot cake--a family favorite!--and she blew out the candle as soon as she woke up this morning. (Please excuse the jammies and the crazy hair! As I said, it was as soon as she woke up this morning!)
I offered to cut her a big piece for breakfast, but she wanted to wait until tonight to eat it.

Tea for Two

As an early birthday treat, I took Sarah to our favorite tea room for a special girly lunch. As always, we had so much fun!
Sarah took this picture of the pretty tea pot we had our rose bud tea in!

Thank You Letter

The other day, Bryan received this hand written thank you letter from the Chairman of Anesthesia in Kansas City.
Dear Bryan,
Thank you for taking your time and making the effort to interview with us. I enjoyed talking with you on the telephone this evening and I hope I answered all of your questions. You have a very good application and you should be very proud of your academic accomplishments. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us.
Best Regards, Dr. Fibuch Professor/Chair
We thought it was so nice of the Chairman to go out of his way to write Bryan a personal letter. It's definitely going in his medical school scrapbook!

Valentine's

Although Bryan and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day ourselves, we always get Sarah goodies. It's one of her favorite holidays...chocolate candy + Sarah = match made in heaven!
Sarah eating one of her chocolates. We get her one of these little boxes each year.

Valentine Cards

Last night, Sarah and I finished up her Valentine cards for her class party today! I found these bear Valentines in a catalog of all places and ordered them last month. We added the cherry flavored Tootsie Pops. We also took M&M packs for her party, so who knows how much candy she'll have in her system before the end of the day. Tomorrow, I'll give her the goodies Bryan and I got for her.

She couldn't wait to pass them out once we were done!

Marriage = No Talking

Yesterday afternoon--out of nowhere--Sarah told me that she wasn't going to marry Cameron, (one of her good friends from preschool last year), because "he talks too much!" At least she knows what she wants, even if she is only 5!

Hip Hip Hooray!

Bryan called this afternoon to tell me that he has to take an "exit interview" at his med school on Friday the 27th, so he'll have to head home on the 26th! That's one day less of him being gone! And even though it's just one day, that's one day sooner that Sarah and I will be able to see him! I am so excited!! Hip hip hooray!
*Now I just have to decide what I'm going to make for dinner that night to celebrate!

Sarah's Artwork

Sarah drew this picture on Friday at preschool, (where she stayed while her school was having a teacher work day). It is of her and two of her friends, Amy and Skylar, being ballerinas in a play. Notice the buns on their heads! I also love the piano player of the right. The bottom reads: "I am a ballerina. We are having a play. All of our parents are here." I just love it!

Painting Pottery

On Saturday, Sarah and I painted pottery at this great studio in Southlake! We had so much fun on our girls' day! She painted a butterfly jewelry box, and I painted a coffee mug.

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 6 year wedding anniversary! I cannot believe it's been that long. I still remember walking down the aisle, while looking into his eyes and smiling from ear to ear, because I was so excited to be his wife! I absolutely LOVE being married to Bryan! He is my best friend, and the greatest hubby ever!
To commemorate our six year anniversary, I thought I would write six things I love about Bryan. (There are obviously a lot more, but then we would be here all day, and let's face it, who has time for that?!)
He is the most thoughtful person I have ever known. After we had been dating for only a week, he bought me a card and a bunch of bananas. (I get foot cramps a lot and potassium helps!) What a sweetie!
He is the best dad! He loves everything about being a father: from being silly and playing with Sarah to helping her with homework and tucking her in at night. She has him wrapped around her finger!
He is the funniest person ever! He always knows how to make me laugh--even the times when I don't want to!
He is such a great provider! He does everything for our family. In college, he worked the graveyard shift at Kinko's to bring in income, and even though he didn't have to, he tutored for his medical school, (which paid very well!).
He is extremely considerate and helpful. Whether it's folding laundry and doing the dishes, working at his Nana's house, or tutoring other medical students, Bryan is always there to help!
He goes out of his way to let me know he appreciates me. He always says thank you for everything!
Sarah made us this card over a month ago at school. Isn't it the sweetest? The picture inside is of Sarah and me watching Daddy on the hang glider while we wait our turn. I don't know why we're hang gliding, (haha!), but we love the card!!

Star Student!

The amazing Sarah has done it again! She received Star Student yesterday for getting a 100 on her Advanced Reading test! After school, we went out for frozen custard to celebrate!

Fancy Nancy and Sarah

Two nights ago before bed, Sarah and I were reading one of her Fancy Nancy books. (It is my new favorite series of kids' books! They are too cute and so funny!) At one point, Fancy Nancy was sad and said, "It's hard being the only fancy person in my family," to which Sarah added, "I know how you feel, Fancy Nancy; I know how you feel." Hmmm...I don't know what she meant by that, but I finished reading the story regardless!

Two More Bite the Dust!

Yesterday, I took Sarah to the dentist to have two of her teeth pulled to make room for the teeth next to them to come in.
This is her before.
And this is her after. She said, "Now, I have the biggest hole in the world!"
Although there was crying and screaming, (which I can't blame her AT all!), she did great! Once she was feeling up to it after the numbness wore off, I took her to Chick-fil-A for soup and a strawberry milkshake. Last night, the toothfairy brought her $5.00. She was so excited!
