A Party and a Date

A couple of weekends ago, Sarah got invited to a birthday party.  One of her dolls was also invited.  Sarah chose to take her favorite doll, Chevrolet.  They were both very excited!

On the way to the party, I looked in the backseat to find Chevy buckled up.  Sarah used to do this all the time with her dolls and stuffed animals when she was younger, so it was so sweet to see it again!

While she was at the party, Daddy and I took Jackson to Lowe's, (or "Wowe's"), as J calls it and out to dinner.  It was fun to be able to have a special little date with just Jack.  And Jack loved it because he and Daddy both wore hats and we rode in Daddy's "big truck!"

When we picked Sarah up, she told us how much fun she had!  She cooked a few different things at the party--including a little tart just for Chevy.

Bluebonnets

Last Friday, I took the kids on our annual trip to take pictures in the bluebonnets.

Even though he's not looking at the camera, I just love Jackson's little face in this picture!

Love!!

Jackson loved running through the open field.  He would touch the "boobonnets" then laugh because they "tickle"!

I can't get enough of them holding hands.

Later Friday afternoon, Sarah brought me this picture.  I just adore it, and I can't wait to frame it!

Cupcakes

On Thursday after nap time, I took the kids to a cupcake shop.  We had never been before, but I have a feeling we'll visit from now on!

The kids were really excited!  On the way there, Sarah kept saying that she wanted a chocolate one, and Jackson kept saying that he wanted one with "siples" which means sprinkles.  Luckily, the shop had exactly what the kids wanted!  I also took a chocolate peanut butter one home for Daddy!

Notice how sweet and lady-like Sarah is eating her cupcake.

Now, notice how Jackson decides that going in face first is the best approach!!

This picture just cracks me up!

Blue eyes + chocolate face = every girl's dream

Barnes and Noble Date

Last Saturday, Bryan picked up an extra 12 hour shift at the hospital, so I took the kids to Barnes and Noble because it was rainy outside.  While there, we ate breakfast at Starbucks--and by breakfast, I mean dessert.  Sarah had tiramisu and Jackson had a huge chocolate chip cookie!

After our healthy meal, we went upstairs to read.

Then, we all played with the train table.  It's Jack's favorite thing to do there besides reading!

Aren't they so sweet playing together?!  I warms my heart.

I almost always have my rear view mirror directed towards the back sea,t (instead of out the back window like it's supposed to be!), so I can talk to the kiddos.  When I looked in the mirror, this is what I saw.  I just love when they hold hands!!

Before heading home, we stopped at the library--for even more books!  While there, Sarah snapped this shot of Jackson and Mommy walking in our rain boots!  Love!

Family Pizza Nights

We love family date nights, and we love pizza!  So, in January and February we combined those two loves and had a great time!

For this family night, we had Costco pizza in the den while watching Cars.  The kids always love the rare occasions when we eat in the den instead of the dining room!  And we had never seen Cars before so it was fun to watch it together!  I love how my biggest kid, Bryan, is smiling in this picture!!

A couple of weeks later, we had another family night where we made pizza!

The kids love rolling out the dough!

And while they put cheese on top of the pizza...

...they also take turns putting the cheese in their mouths!

This is Mama and Papa Bear's pizza.  It may look like a margherita pizza, but there are two layers of meat underneath!

A Wonderful Day

Today, was a wonderful day!  Bryan was unfortunately on call, but other than missing him like crazy, it was a wonderful day!
Sarah usually gets up around 5 AM on the weekend, but today, she slept in.  Jackson and I actually woke her up because we were singing in his room a little after 7.  I had no idea she was still asleep so I felt horrible!  After getting dressed, I made smoothies and chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.  Bryan doesn't like chocolate chip pancakes, so I only make them when he's working.  After drinking his smoothie and eating two pancakes, Jackson handed me his plate and asked for a cookie!  Since the chocolate chip pancake was basically a cookie, I just laughed!  The boy gets credit for trying though!  After breakfast, Sarah went upstairs to read because she wasn't feeling that well.  Jackson wanted to see the "puppy movie" so I put in Lady and the Tramp.  We snuggled under the blanket and watched it while building Legos.  We're multi-taskers!  During Jackson's naptime, Sarah and I hung out and just talked and played Lite Brite.  It was so nice!

After Jack's nap, we went out to the backyard to have a picnic and play.  The kids loved it!

I just adore this picture of sweet Sarah!

She is the best helper to him.

Bryan and I love that the big age gap between these two doesn't mean a hill of beans!  They really are the best of friends, and we could not be more grateful for that!

I swear I've taken at least 200 pictures of Jackson swinging throughout his little life, but capturing the pure joy on his face when I'm pushing him just doesn't get old!

That huge smile just melts my heart.

He loved looking out of the fence!

And she loved playing on the tire swing!

They both love soccer...

...just like their Daddy!

Bye!

I'm definitely missing Bryan and looking forward to seeing him first thing tomorrow morning, but I really did enjoy everything about today.  I am so blessed to be Sarah and Jackson's Mommy, and I just cherish each moment with them.
