Last First Day

This was Sarah on her first day ever of marching band!  She was nervous, and all she knew of marching band were the stories that Bryan and I shared with her from our time in it.  And she was wearing a Texas A&M hat.

This was Sarah this morning as she was leaving (at 6:15!) for her last first day of marching band.  She was excited to have her first day as drum major, and now, she has countless marching band memories of her own,  And she was wearing her new UT hat!

Diamond!

A week ago today, we adopted a dog!  Her name is Diamond, she'll be 2 years old in August, and she's just the best!

The kids...and Bryan...have wanted a dog forever, and I finally got onboard when Diamond was offered to us!

After meeting us, playing with her ball, and running around from all the excitement, she took a nap on Sarah.

I mean!

On Friday morning, after her first night with us, Bryan, Sarah, and I took her on a morning walk and then went to get breakfast all together!

We got Diamond 2 days before Jackson got home from camp, and we were all so excited to surprise him with her.  When we got in the car at camp, J asked if we had Diamond yet, and we told him that we were still thinking about it...it was so hard not to tell him on the 2 hour car ride home!

When Jackson walked in the door, he saw her food and water bowls before he saw her, and he yelled, "Diamond!  Oh my goodness, we got her!"

J totally flipped out with excitement, and it was so fun to watch!

One of my favorites!

This one is also one of my favorites!

On Saturday afternoon, after J meeting Diamond, all 5 of us went out for the first time!  We picked up burgers from Shake Shack, then attempted to take our first picture as a family of 5--which we totally nailed!--and then, we took a walk.

It's only been a week since we've had Diamond, but we already love her so stinkin' much!  She loves sleeping in Sarah's bed, playing ball with Jackson, eating people food, and getting belly rubs from Daddy!

Our Week with Sarah

While Jackson was at camp, we were able to spend the whole time with our Sarah Bear!

The first thing we did all together was make homemade pasta!

We were so proud of ourselves!

The sweetest!

We had such a fun time making dinner, and it turned out to be super yummy!

One afternoon while Bryan went out with an old friend, Sarah and I got lunch and went to a couple of our favorite stores!

She's my favorite!

That same afternoon, Sarah and I decorated one of her jean jackets with patches and buttons.

It turned out super cute!

Just like we did last year, we wore matching outfits one day!

I hope she's always fine with us matching!

One afternoon, Sarah and I made cookies to take to Jackson when we picked him up from camp!

I love baking with her!

We went swimming one evening

and clearly had a great time!

It was the sweetest week with our girl!
