It's Official!

Last week, Bryan received his trusty pager. Supposedly, it will rule his life this year, but for the following three years, it will primarily only be used while he's at the hospital, (hot dog!).
Tomorrow morning, before the sun rises, Bryan will put on his white coat, place his stethoscope around his neck, and head off to the hospital. Tomorrow morning, his patients will not call him Student Doctor Crowder, but Doctor Crowder. Tomorrow morning, Bryan is an actual physician. Tomorrow morning, he is officially a doctor.

A Tire Swing!

Papa Bear spent the better part of this afternoon building a tire swing for Sarah! He did such a great job! I helped too--making him ice water, cleaning the tire, and hanging it with him!
Tonight, we had our good friends, Tom, Wendy, and Sally, over for dinner. They lived two houses down from us in Fort Worth, and Bryan and Wendy were in the same med school class. Now, they're both doing their residency together here in San Antonio. Sarah and Sally had a blast playing on the tire swing!
Getting on...carefully Sarah and Sally swingin' around!

Tea Party

Since Bryan is at his second day of orientation at the hospital, Sarah and I decided to have a tea party this afternoon! We baked raspberry scones and made different kinds of finger sandwiches with cucumber, turkey, and ham. We had a wonderfully girly time!

I took this picture before we moved everything to the table to dine. I love that her pinkie is raised!
I have such a great time with Sarah whenever we have hot tea. We both speak with an English accent, and she says such things as:
--"Don't you think this tea is delightful, madame?" --"I declare, these are wonderful scones!" --"Would you be so kind as to pass the sugar, darling?"

Father's Day!

Father's Day was simple and relaxing at our house yesterday. It started with Sarah waking us up a little before 7:00 to wish Daddy a Happy Father's Day!
Then, she presented Daddy with this drawing of him holding her up to pick an apple. (We have never picked our own apples before, so I don't know where she came up with this!)
After that, Sarah gave Daddy this fact list that she and I worked on. It included everything, in Sarah's own words, from his favorite food to her favorite thing to do with him. He really liked it! She also gave him a DVD set to one of his favorite shows, Everwood. After just buying a house, we kept this holiday sweet and simple!!
And the evening was capped off with a cheer for Daddy. Sarah chose the old standby: "Give me a D, give me an A, give me a D! What does that spell?!" Then she did a big cartwheel, and collapsed on him with a huge hug!

Overheard at Our House

"Try to keep the cinnamon predominately on the toast and within the confines of the pan."
--Bryan said this yesterday morning while he and Sarah were making cinnamon-sugar toast to go with our breakfast.
"Goodness gracious! Look what you did to my honeys!"
--Sarah shouted this last night when I put one of her little pillows on top of her babies in their crib. I will not make that mistake again! : )
"I think I know who did it! It was the security guard; he looks suspicious!"
--Sarah said this to my dad this morning while they were watching Scooby Doo.

Artwork by Sarah

Each day in Kindergarten, Sarah had to write a story and draw a picture. Now that summer is in full swing, I am organizing all of them. It is so fun to look through them and see what she drew.
Sarah and Daddy dancing at a party. I wonder if she got extra points for the disco ball?! Sarah and me on the top of a mountain watching a sun set. That's how everyone views a sun set, right?! Sarah and me baking our brownies, and daddy waiting for them to be done. Sarah and Daddy on a treasure hunt. They had to go through the forest, the lightning, and the lake to get to it!
Daddy graduating. Sarah wrote that she is so proud of him!

Daddy and Sarah Time

Daddy and Sarah love spending time together! And this morning, they spent their time washing the cars. Sarah had a blast! She told me that they were going to make my car "as shiny as a movie star's!"
Spraying it down.
Teamwork!

Nail Polish

This morning, after a couple of board games and books, Sarah and I decided to paint our nails. I painted our toenails...
...and she painted our fingernails. I chose a light color on purpose!!

A Picture for Daddy

Sarah drew this picture for Bryan the other day on her dry erase board. After unpacking boxes and hanging blinds for hours on end, it made his day!

Teacher Gifts

This morning, Sarah and I delivered gifts to her teachers. For her regular teacher, Mrs. McDaniel, Sarah picked out a coffee mug to go with a Starbucks gift card. Then we also bought her a gift card to Gloria's--her and her hubby's favorite restaurant. Sarah made her the sweetest card that we tucked down inside of the bag as well.
For her other teachers--music, art, and PE--Sarah made each of them a special picture that we framed, and I made them some homemade body scrub. (Mrs. McDaniel received some body scrub too!) Hopefully, the teachers will enjoy their gifts!

Award Ceremony

This morning was Sarah's award ceremony at school. Bryan and I are so proud of her, yet we can't believe that she only has 2 days left of Kindergarten! She's growing up too fast!
Sarah clapping for the other students. Sarah's cute as a button teacher announcing her award. Sarah shaking hands with the principal after receiving a special award for her "Excellent Reading"!

Dinner with Friends

Last night, one of my dearest friends put together a going away dinner with some great friends from work! It was the most fun I've had in a long time! Laughter filled the air while we talked and reminisced. I will miss each of them like crazy!!
Aimee, Jennifer (the one responsible for the fun!), and Sam Cheryl and my wonderful boss and great friend, Deb Kim, Missi, Ben, and Ian I promise, I only drank water!
A much better picture!
