Iron Man's ready to start the day!

Jackson's Birthday!

The day before Jackson's birthday, I asked if he wanted me to make birthday cake pancakes for breakfast.  He said he wanted donuts instead!

 

 So we took him to get donuts!

 

Then, when Papa Bear got home from work, we took went to see "Finding Dory"!  J was so excited!

 

 

When we got back from the movie, he wanted to open presents first, so that's what we did!  The week before his birthday when we were at Barnes and Noble, he showed me a book about the presidents and dinosaurs that he wanted, so I went back later to get those for him.  He was so happy!

He was also pretty excited about his Iron Man hands

and mask!

He also got a Hulk action figure.  He is pretty obsessed with super heroes right now!

We found this Star Wars baking set and thought it was perfect for him!

One of our birthday traditions is that you get to pick whatever home-cooked meal and dessert you want on your birthday.  Jackson originally asked for grilled cheese, then changed it to just a turkey and cheese sandwich!  He is a turkey!

Then for dessert, he wanted me to make a cherry cheese pie--or "cold cherry pie" as he calls it!

He always loves when we sing "Happy Birthday" to him, and it's the cutest thing ever to watch him smile from ear to ear!

He takes blowing out the candle very seriously!

Another tradition we have is that sometime around your birthday, you can pick a restaurant to have a special dinner.  Jackson chose Sonic!  He's nothing if he's not fancy!

We've had so much fun celebrating our little 6 year old over the past few days!  He's the best, and we love him so!

Happy Birthday, Jackson!

6 years ago today, God blessed us with Jackson Henry!  He was 7 pounds, 6 ounces of perfection!  We are so blessed to call him ours!

Jackson has had such a big year, and we have loved watching him continue to grow!  He started kindergarten and did awesome!  He reads all the time!  Jackson also got baptized, and we are so proud of him for choosing to always follow Jesus!  He loves legos and superheroes and his Sissy!  He is the sweetest little boy who puts others first and gives the biggest bear hugs!  We thank God for sweet Jackson every day!

Jackson's Birthday Party!

Yesterday, we had the grandparents over to celebrate Jackson's birthday!

 

It was just a simple lunch at the house, but I asked Jackson what theme he wanted, and he picked Batman!  So we tried our best to look the part!

 

I love this one!

 

My sister and her husband sent this as part of Jackson's birthday gift, and I thought it was the perfect addition for the party! 

I put some of my favorite Jackson as Batman pictures out--I actually had quite a lot to choose from!

Jackson requested "little hot cherry pies" for his party, so that's what I made!

I tried to make the party food all of J's favorite things, and that definitely includes circus animal cookies, gummi bears, and m&m's!

 

We had plenty of goldfish and chips too!

And his favorite food wouldn't be complete without chick-fil-a!

He's so sweet and always gets so excited about all of his gifts!

After presents, it was time for his little cherry pie!

Although the candle says 6, I still can't believe he's really about to be 6!

 

He and Sissy had fun playing with all of his new toys together!

It was a sweet party, and Jackson had a great time!
