This morning, we dropped our babies off at school for their first day of 8th grade and 1st grade! Our hearts and our prayers went with them.
We can't believe Sarah's in 8th grade!
We are so proud of our baby girl, and we can't wait to watch her continue to shine this year!
Our 1st grader is getting to big!
He was so excited to go back to school!
We know he's going to do awesome again this year!
Our babies are too cute!
Jackson's school starts first, so the three of us walked him in--just like we did last year.
After waiting in the cafeteria for a bit, we took Jackson to his classroom, and he was so excited to find his new cubby and put his name tag on!
Then, he sat down at his desk and immediately started working on the paper that was waiting for him! It was too cute to watch!
Sissy came over for one last hug!
After dropping Jackson off, we went to Starbucks with Sarah Bear. Then, when it was her turn to head to school, she got out of the car and held up the "I love you" sign that she and I did every morning last year. It was so sweet, and I'm so glad that I had the camera ready! Then, I yelled to her one more time, "Have a great day! We love you! Let your light shine!"
We couldn't wait to pick Jackson up from school and hear all about his day! This is what he said:
"I missed you!
And guess what?! I was really cited about school!
We had outside recess, and guess who my eyes saw? Jacob! He's my best friend!
Mrs. Ball was nice.
I have one sticker.
My lunch was good. Tomorrow, can I have a Nutella sandwich? I read your note, and I didn't throw it away.
We went to music. It was boring.
Before the pledge of allegiance, I hurried up to do my homework.
My desk is great!
I have some new friends. This guy was very nice--he let me sharpen my pencil."
When Sarah got in the car, he said,
"Guess what? My class was awesome!" Then Sarah asked J to tell her all about his day, and he said, "Not again like I told mom! Mom, can you tell her pwease?!"
Goodness, he cracks me up!
Then, we headed over to Sarah's school to get her! We were really looking forward to hearing about her day! This is what she said:
"My day was awesome!
I walked into Science, my first class, and we had 6 people! My teacher seems really nice!
I saw one of my best friends, and we hugged and talked forever!
Algebra seems cool, and apparently we're not going to have much homework in that class.
In English, oh my goodness, my English teacher is hilarious! She is fantastic! She said that this is our classroom, she's just here to help. And we had to come up with a three word hashtag that will make the world better or make ourselves feel better, and I came up with #bethelight (we tell her to let her light shine every time we drop her off at school or church, so I was so proud!)
In band we didn't do anything but talk about our upcoming trips and laughed!
Art was pretty fun!
History is really cool! Our teacher is awesome!
Spanish was slightly terrifying! I walked in, sat down, and immediately she launched into a speech in Spanish! I picked up on a few words, and then I could figure out what she was saying. It's going to be hard, but I'm kind of very excited!
My lunch was really good! Your brownie was very nice!"
She's the cutest! Once we had both kiddos, we went out for our traditional first day of school treat! I missed them like crazy today, and I was glad to have them back home! That being said, I was also really happy that Papa Bear took off so we could take them to school, then have a movie and lunch date, and pick them up together!
