Field Trip for Two

Yesterday, Jackson's class went to the zoo...again...so, he and I decided to go on a field trip just the two of us...again!

We started the day off with coffee.  Well, I got coffee, and he got a milkshake and a cinnamon roll!

Then, we went to the pumpkin patch!  It was so cold, and it actually started drizzling, but he was determined to go, and I never turn down going to the pumpkin patch!

Next, we went to see The Addams Family and had lunch during the movie!

And finally, we finished up the day at Target, where he showed me some of the gifts he wants for Christmas.
It was the sweetest day!  The night before, when we were talking about the field trip, he said, "I'm so excited!  And not because of the pumpkin patch or the movie, but because of you!"  Then, when we got home yesterday, he said, "best day!"  This boy...he has my heart.

Our Weekend

This weekend was full of some of my favorite things, and it was so good for my heart.

On Saturday, we slept in, then had coffee, while watching College Game Day, (Bryan's favorite).  Then, we went to the Fall Festival at church and had a great time!

We got to spend time with some of our dearest friends,

and the boys--dressed in flannel--got to go on a hay ride!
While we were there, Jackson said "hey girl!" to a girl that he went to church preschool with when they were three as if he was trying to ask her out on a date!  Ha!

After the festival, we went to watch Sarah's last official marching band performance.

Then, my boyfriend and I had a pizza date!

On Sunday morning, Bryan and I held hands at church, then we did long division with Jackson when we got home, (not my favorite!).

Bryan and I cooked dinner together, then after we all ate and J left the table, we stayed and talked and laughed with our Sarah Bear for a long time, and it was just perfect.  It was the sweetest weekend.

Halloween Dinner

Last week, we had our Halloween dinner!

As soon as October rolls around, Jackson starts asking me when I'm going to make the mummy hot dogs--they're his favorite!

We also had ghost cupcakes,

chocolate pretzels,

and orange chips and juice!  And we all ate it in the den while we watched, It's a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

A Little Tradition

Yesterday, the kids made these little cookies that we've been making every holiday for the past 15 years.

It's a simple tradition, but it's one of our very favorites.
