Church Camp and Date Nights

This week, Jackson had church camp!  He loved it!  It was Monday-Wednesday evening at our church, and he couldn't wait to go each day!

They had worship and played games and learned Bible stories!  He had a blast!

After we dropped him off each evening, we went on a date...just the three of us!  We had the best time!  On Monday, we went out for Pho.

Then, we went to our favorite ice cream shop!

On Tuesday, we went out for Thai food...

...then back to our favorite ice cream shop!

On Wednesday, we didn't go out to eat--since we had Jackson's birthday dinner and dessert at home.  Instead, we stayed in and watched our current Netflix show all together!  We love hanging out all four of us, but it was nice to have time with just Sarah for a few days while Bubba was at church camp!

Jackson's Birthday

We started Jackson's birthday off with Papa Bear being home!  He was able to get the day off of work, and Jackson was so excited!  We picked up Chick-fil-a, Jackson's favorite, for breakfast!

Then for dinner, I made chicken and fettuccine alfredo!

We still can't believe he's 8!

I'd say he's pretty excited about it though!

For his birthday present, Papa Bear's going to build him a tree house!  When we told him at breakfast, he flipped out!  He's been wanting one for a long time, and he can't wait to get started!

Happy 8th Birthday, Jackson Henry!  We love you to the moon and back!

8 years ago today, God blessed us with our Jackson Henry.  He was 7 pounds and 6 ounces of adorable perfection.  And even though he's 8, he will always be our baby.

Church Camp

On Monday, Bryan left for church camp.  Each Wednesday--that he's not working--he's at church, mentoring 8th and 9th grade boys, and this week, he's at camp with them!  I'm so proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone and working with them!  I know they're learning a lot from him!  The kids and I have been having lots of fun, but we can't wait to have him home tomorrow!

Father's Day

On Sunday, we celebrated our favorite guy...our Papa Bear!

 He's the best Dad and husband, and we love him more than anything!

We started the day with sleeping in, (which only happened since we went to church on Sunday!).  Then, I made him one of his favorite breakfasts...with extra meat!

Then, after watching lots of soccer--his favorite after college football--we went swimming!  I love that their hats say "The Legend" and "The Legacy"!

After swimming and showers, I made him one of his favorite dinners--rigatoni with homemade sauce and homemade meatballs!  Then, later that night, Bryan, Sarah, and I went up to his "gentlemen's retreat" to play pool!  I think he would say it was a pretty perfect day!  I sure hope so anyway, because to us, he's a pretty perfect guy!

Movie

Over the weekend, we went on a family date to see the new Star Wars movie!

Jackson was so excited!  He wore his Star Wars shirt and had Han Solo and Chewy tattoos!  He loved the movie...except for the kissing scenes...he covered his eyes during those!

Library Day

Today was our first library day of the summer!  It's one of our favorite places to go!  And these two...they're my favorite!

Sweet Pea

The other night as Bryan and I were tucking Jackson in, I said, "I love you, sweet pea."  And he replied, "I love you more, sweet pea!"

He's too much.  I simply cannot.

Bryan's Birthday

Papa Bear's birthday was on May 22nd, but we finally finished celebrating it today...on June 3rd!

On his actual birthday, Sarah had to perform at the high school graduation that evening, so we postponed our traditional birthday dinner and just did birthday dessert!

Then, last weekend, I made his birthday meal.  He picked sausage and gravy with homemade biscuits, macaroni and cheese, collard greens with bacon, and apple strudel.

And finally, today, after church, we went to one of his favorite restaurants for lunch.  Thus completing all of our birthday traditions...that all center around food!
