In the Kitchen

I just love being in the kitchen with my babies.  So, yesterday evening, we all made dinner together!

 

I taught Sarah how to make my homemade meat sauce.  This sauce always gets me brownie points with Bryan, so I'm pretty sure it will come in handy when she's married too! 

First, she chopped the onions.

 

Then, after she sautéed the onions and added the crushed tomatoes, it was time for the seasonings.  I told her I just add a little of this and a little of that--and I let her put everything in.

Jackson was in charge of one of his favorite desserts--apple dumplings.

While Sarah was stirring away, Bryan and I told her that you should always taste your food.  So, she did.  And then, she let me have a taste.  It was delicious! 

After watching Sissy, J felt as if he needed to taste his mixture too!

Here are their finished products!  They were so yummy, and we had so much fun making them!  All of us being in the kitchen together was the perfect end to the day!

Loved

When I was little, I wanted to be a wife and a mommy when I grew up.  And God blessed me so!   I am so grateful for my sweet husband (who took the picture) and for these two little souls.   I pray that I let them know each and every day, by my words and my actions, just how much they are loved. Unconditionally.  Completely.  Wonderfully.  Loved.

Date with Jackson

Right before school started, I took the kiddos on little dates. One of the places Jackson and I--and Mr. Monkey--went to was a frozen yogurt shop. He's been asking to go back there, so while Sissy went to a friend's house yesterday afternoon, Daddy and I took him on a little date! He--and Mr. Monkey--were so excited!

Superhero Jackson

I love this boy. And I love that he wants to be a superhero when he grows up. Well, a superhero, a football player, a firefighter, a popcorn man, a doctor, a library guy, a police officer, and a chef. But mainly a superhero!

Snuggles

Wednesday evening, Bryan was on call, and Sarah was at church.  So, this little cutie and I snuggled in bed and watched cartoons.  It was the sweetest way to end the day!

Way to go, Sarah!

Last Friday, we received a phone call that Sarah was invited to join the National Junior Honor Society!  She was so nervous to get the application and even more nervous to fill it out, but all along, we knew our baby would get in!

 

Before the induction ceremony on Tuesday evening, we took her out to eat, and then we continued the celebration with her favorite dessert--homemade brownies topped with homemade frosting!

We are always so proud of our Sarah Bear!

Sweetness

On Monday evening, while I was cooking dinner, these two started playing football.

I had to stop cooking to capture the sweetness.

I just love these two playing football together!

Lunchbox Notes

Jackson loves for me to tuck little notes in his lunchbox. The one on the left is what he requested me to write in today's note. The one on the right is what I actually put into his lunchbox. Boys...

 

Speaking of farts, last night at dinner, he told us that he tooted in class and blamed it on a little girl!  He cracked up.  We all cracked up!

Cross Country

Sarah had her first cross country meet yesterday!  The three of us drove out to cheer her on!  The first time she passed us, Bryan yelled, "Hi Sarah!"  She looked over at us, and her face lit up as she waved!  She told us after the race that she was so excited to see us, and it give her the boost that she needed!

 

This is clearly not the best picture, but I love that I was able to get a quick shot of her running! 

She did so awesome, and we are so proud of our baby girl!

Thank you, Police Officers

We want to teach our kids to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Sometimes, that's as simple as making a thank you card for our local police officers.

With all of the horrible things happening lately, it's been on my heart to personally thank the police officers in our little town. Yesterday at Jackson's school, they wore blue to "back the blue" so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do something for them. Jackson made little cards--complete with dinosaur stickers--and I baked homemade brownies. He couldn't wait to give our little tokens of appreciation to the police officers when I picked him up from school today! First, we thanked the sweet police officer who works at each of the schools, and then, we went to the police station. We are truly grateful to these selfless servants, and I hope these little treats conveyed that.

Grandparents' Lunch

 

Monday was Grandparents' Lunch Day at Jackson's school!  I told him about it the night before, and he was so excited!  He loved having Grampy and Grand Nana come visit him at school!

Aggie Game

On Saturday, we were all excited to be home to see the Aggies play!

 

These two cute boys were the most excited!

 

To go with the game, we had to have snacks!

We all look forward to this part of football games!

I made a new queso a couple of nights before the game for fajita night, so we heated the rest of it up for the game--it was yummy!

Daddy wanted salted caramel rice krispie treats, and Sarah wanted whoppie pies--so I made both!

 

It was fun to watch the game with Bryan, and even more fun because we won!

A Library Book and a Popsicle

Jackson got to check out his first book from the school library on Tuesday!  And he had a super day of behaving well, so he got to eat a popsicle while we read his book!  He's just too cute!

Family Date

On Labor Day, we went to visit Daddy--who was still on call.  Our first stop--Chuck E Cheese.  Jackson was so excited!

 

He loved racing the cars with Daddy!  And Sarah sweetly offered to help--because J couldn't reach the pedals!

 

We played a ton of skee ball--especially me and Sarah!  It was so much fun!

We combined all of our tickets, and Jackson picked out a piece of candy and a coin collector!  He was pretty happy with his prizes!

After Chuck E Cheese, we ate lunch at Gloria's, then walked down by the harbor for a bit.

It was such a fun family date!  We all had a great time!
