Cute Cowboy

Today Jackson got to wear his Halloween costume to school.  J's supposed to be Batman.  However his Bat-costume would have to be taken all the way off to go potty!  So, instead Jackson went as a cowboy--the makings of which are always in his closet anyway!

I told him to tip his hat to his teacher and say, "Howdy, ma'am!"

The Lord's Prayer

Every night before bed, Bryan and I read the same Bible to Jackson that we used to read to Sarah. Now that he knows so many words himself, Jackson loves to read to us. There is nothing sweeter than a little one reading God's Word! Last night, he read The Lord's Prayer with just a little bit of help. Then J got to the last line..."but deliver us from the evil one" and laughed hysterically at the word "but"! I told him that it wasn't the one that meant booty, but he was too far gone at that point! Boys...

Baking with Jackson

Last night after we were already in our jammies, Jackson and I made some ghost cookies!

Sissy was at church, so it was the perfect opportunity to have a little one-on-one time with J.

He's the cutest little helper!

Super Jackson

Yesterday for Red Ribbon Week, Jackson got to wear a cape to school!  Needless to say, he was so excited!

I helped him put on his cape as soon as he got out of bed!

Super Jackson to the rescue!

His new Batman shoes went perfectly with his cape!

Baking with Sarah

When Sarah Bear was little, she used to stand on a chair in the kitchen and put these holiday cookies on the baking sheet.  A few days ago, she saw a box in the fridge and got so excited!  She told me that she loved making them when she was little, and my heart melted because I always loved making them with her too!  Yesterday after school, she and I made the cookies again, and it was just as sweet as we both remembered.  I love that she already has sweet memories tucked away, and I can't wait to make countless more that she'll take with her forever.  Goodness knows the memories will be in my heart forever too.

She ate four of them raw!

You're never to old to wait impatiently for goodies to be finished baking!

It was so sweet spending time with Sarah Bear!  And these cookies were the perfect dessert!

Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday was the most wonderfully perfect day!  Full of church, a big pot of homemade hot chocolate, pumpkin carvings, and my three loves.

This was Jackson's first year to carve pumpkins!  He was so excited!  He told Daddy he wanted an angry jack-o-lantern!

Super Dad carving away!

Sweet teamwork!

J's hand on Daddy's...melts my heart!

Sarah drew a music notes on her pumpkin and then carved it herself!

They both had so much fun carving their pumpkins!  Jackson named his Mr. Angry from Boo-town!

This is Jackson being silly while I was setting up the tripod!

He cracks me--and himself!--up!

I am so grateful for this sweet family of mine!

My favorite!

Batman Jammies

A few weeks ago, I picked up some new winter jammies for Jackson.  Saturday night, it was finally cold enough for him to wear them.  He flipped out when he saw what they were!

 "I'm Batman!"
He even had on Batman underwear!  As soon as he woke up on Sunday morning for church, he asked if I could wash them when we got home so he could wear them again!

We just love our little Batman!

Great Job, Sarah!

On Friday, Sarah received an award from her Pre-AP English teacher!  She also got her report card--97, two 98's, and four 100's!  As always, we are so proud of her!

Zoo Field Trip

Yesterday was Jackson's first field trip!  It was to the zoo, and I volunteered to chaperone!  J was so excited to ride the school bus for the first time and visit the zoo with his class!

Spider-Man loved the zoo!

He's so silly!

Pure joy!

I think my favorite part of the whole day was when I took J and his two friends who were in our group on the carousel!  Jackson smiled and laughed the whole time!

I had the best time with this little cutie!  I don't think he could smile any bigger if he tried!  I'll go on field trips with him as long as he lets me!

Cherry Pie

On Monday, Jackson and I made a cherry pie--his and Daddy's favorite!

Jackson cut out the lattice strips and put them on all by himself.  He did a great job, and I had so much fun being in the kitchen with him!

Grace and Cannoli

Jackson's grace before dinner:
Dear God,
Thank you for this day, for building our bones, and for making our food.
Amen!
I love when little ones pray!

Also, I made cannoli cream to fill some cannoli shells for dessert. Guess which one is J's!

Homework

Yesterday, Jackson had his first homework assignment!

He was so excited to finally be old enough to have homework!

There was actually an assignment for each night this week, but J was so eager to work, that we did all of them!

He's the cutest kindergartener I know!
