Lost a Tooth!

Last night as I was getting Bubs into his jammies for bed, I heard screaming coming from Sarah's bathroom. I asked what was wrong, and she yelled that she lost a tooth!! She was really excited and even more excited this morning to find a dollar from the Tooth Fairy!
Sarah pointing at the new hole in her mouth--with her mouth closed though, so you can't see it, thus defeating the purpose of pointing! Haha!

Curious George

A couple of days ago, Bryan brought home 2 Curious George monkeys for the kids. They both LOVED them and slept with them that night!! Between the books that we own and ones we've checked out from the library, I think we've read every Curious George book there is over the years! I cannot wait to read them all with Jackson too!
So adorable!

12 Month Check-Up

Yesterday was Jackson's 12 month check-up. Since Bryan was post-call and had a good night of sleep, he went with us. I cannot even tell you how happy that made me--especially since the whole thing took 2 hours!! Jackson weighs 20 pounds, 2 ounces and is 29 inches tall. The doctor said everything looked great! He had to get 4 immunizations, bless his heart. As soon as the nurse was finished with the shots, and I picked him up off of the table, he gave her the worst look!! It made Bryan and me laugh!
Sarah took some pictures with my phone of our time at the doctor's office:
Bryan and I kept passing him back and forth!
And, of course, she had to take one of herself!

1 Year Old!!

Today, Jackson Henry turns 1 year old! I really cannot believe that a year ago today, he came into this world and changed our lives! Bryan and I are so blessed to be his parents, and we thank God daily for him!!
12 month old cutie!
*
I'm a little glad this is the last month I'll be taking his picture like this, because today was the hardest yet! Despite snacks, singing, being silly, and toys, this is the best picture I got!! Haha!!

A while back, I saw this idea online to take your child's picture with a chalkboard stating that it's their birthday. Too cute, right?! So, I put Jackson in the birthday hat I made him and gave him the chalkboard.... This, too, was hard! As you can tell by the fact that he's trying to eat it in this picture!
"Wait, what does it say, Mommy?"
"Oh, I'm supposed to erase it?! No problem, Mama!"
But that's OK that those didn't turn out quite like I planned, because I got this picture out of it! It's one of my new favorites!!!

  • He loves eating! He has oatmeal with yogurt and applesauce or mashed up bananas and cinnamon every morning and every night. He tried baked ziti and homemade focaccia bread and loved it! Jackson also loves peaches, pears, and mandarin oranges. He really likes homemade biscuits too!
  • His favorite songs right now are Blake Shelton's "Honey Bee" and Mommy's "Old MacDonald!"
  • He loves his Daddy and lights up every evening when he gets home from the hospital!
  • He loves having sissy home all day during the summer!
  • His favorite thing to do in the kitchen is stand under my feet as I'm cooking and shut the drawers after we open them!
  • He loves pointing and waving at us!
  • He loves blowing raspberries and thinks it's too funny when one of us does it back to him!
  • He says "sizsa" for Sarah and Sissy! She loves it!!
  • He stands without holding onto anything a lot!! And a few days ago, he took two little steps all by himself! I started clapping and shouting!! Then, Jackson started clapping and shouting! Haha!! He's getting so close to walking all by himself!

Birthday Party!

On Saturday, we celebrated Jackson's first birthday!!
(Warning: there are a million pictures!)
Bryan's family! My family!
*
For both the kids' first birthday parties, we just invite family, and we really appreciated everyone coming!
Jackson reading his card from Nana and Grandpa A new football from Aunt Julie! Yes, he's just a year old, but he already knows exactly what this is thanks to Papa Bear!

Sarah reading one of Jack's cards. She was a great helper! Jackson playing with one of the toys that Aunt Hill and Uncle Logan got him! He also received lots of clothes!
See?!
"Yep, this is my size!"
Jack LOVED this wooden train from Aunt Julie!
He loves shaking it when it whistles!
Close-up of two cuties!
He also LOVED his dump truck from Bryan's parents!
"Why, hello there!"
"What are you lookin' at?!"
Just enjoying the conversation while waiting for cake!
"Is this all for me?!"
I love this picture of Daddy helping Jackson blow out the candle!
"I like this!"
"I wasn't finished with that, Mama!"
Yum!!
Trying to get the leftovers off his fingers once the cake was taken away!
So cute!!
Do we make adorable kids or what?!
This one makes me laugh!

Party Details

Saturday, we had family over to celebrate Jackson's first birthday party! Below are pictures of the details!

Balloon wreath in the party colors--Sarah loved helping me make this! Party favors--animal crackers! For the water bottles, I just wrapped animal print cardstock around them.
We also had fresh lemonade and punch--my brother, Zach, added the lime sherbet to the punch for me...in one big blob!!
Zebra peanut butter kiss cookies!
M&M's in the party colors
Chocolate covered pretzel sticks. Sarah said these were her favorite!
Cupcakes with homemade buttercream icing.
I also made a few pom-poms which my tall hubby hung for me!
Jackson's monthly pictures
This was one of my favorites! I covered the art in our dining room with animal print paper and pictures! I may just keep it up for a while!!
