10 Months Old!

Our boy is 10 months old today! That's 2 months from being a whole year old! (And if you think I haven't been planning his birthday party for months now, you'd be mistaken!)
10 month old cutie! Since he moves around constantly now, I had to bribe him with food in between each picture this morning! If you look closely, you can see it in his mouth! Haha!! He looks like he's trying not to laugh in this one!! I obviously just told a hilarious joke, and he didn't want to be guffawing in the picture! He is just too much! He and Daddy giving each other head butts--this happens several times each day. Men...

I am just so smitten!

He walks while holding onto the furniture

He has 2 new teeth--on the bottom! They both came in on April 12th! That brings his grand total of chompers to 8!

He loves being read to!

He grinds his teeth...alot. It makes all of us cringe!

He thoroughly enjoys eating! Some of his favorite snacks are Cheerios, baby organic cereal bars, fruit and veggie whole grain puffs, and YoBaby organic yogurt.

He loves banging on everything--the walls, his toys, furniture, the floor, your arms, it doesn't matter really! I can't wait until he gets the drum from us for his birthday!

He can climb up the stairs, but has only gone all the way up twice with Daddy and Mommy right behind him. When Bryan finally gets a day off next week, we'll install the gate!

He loves watching his Praise Baby DVD. He doesn't watch it every day, but it's excellent when I'm cooking or cleaning.

He really enjoys looking at pictures of himself and our family

He's getting so big, we had to move his crib to the lowest position this month!

He just adores his big sis! And she adores him right back! Sarah said today, "I love him like the dickens! And I don't even know what dickens means!" Haha!!

He almost always crawls with at least one toy in his hands. It is so cute!

He loves throwing his toys out of his crib

Easter

This morning, we celebrated Easter at our house. Bryan is unfortunately on call today, but I made sure to text a picture of the kids to him at work!
We started the day with sweet Sarah reading The Easter Story to Jackson. He is Risen!
Then, Sarah hunted for all of her eggs! Jackson inspecting one of his eggs--which were camo and sports themed! Sissy feeding Jack the contents of one of his Easter eggs--a banana puff! I like this candid one of both kiddos eating from their eggs! Happy Easter, y'all!

Easter Baskets

Since Bryan was post-call yesterday, we gave the kiddos their Easter baskets!
Two little cuties! Simply adorable!
Sarah got some new books, a water bottle, and glitter crayons!
Jackson received some new books and cars!
He's showing sissy what he got!

Fun Day!

Sarah was out of school for Good Friday today, so the kids and I ran a few fun errands!
First, we went to the library! Sarah read Curious George Goes to the Hospital to Jackson on the way to our next stop, (Academy for Bryan. It wasn't that exciting, so I didn't take a picture! Haha!) Then, we went to a frozen yogurt shop that a friend recommended. They have several yogurt flavors to choose from and dozens of toppings you can add. Sarah chose Cake Batter yogurt and mixed in brownie bits, sprinkles, M&M's, and chocolate chips! (It's a huge cup, but it wasn't even half way full--don't worry!) I got non-fat vanilla and shared with Jackson! He's had gelato with us before and loved it, so I was pretty sure he would like this too! I think his face says it all!!
After the frozen yogurt, we went to Target to get Sarah some sandals for spring and summer. While we were trying them on, she said, "First frozen yogurt, now new sandals, this is the best day!"

Our Little Artist

Jackson and I came upstairs this morning to get Sarah Beara to play, and this is what we found:
So cute!!
It made me laugh so hard that I had to take a picture!

Drummin' Away

A few months ago, we bought some much needed new pots and pans. But I kept our old set for playtime!
I brought them out today, and Jackson loved them! What fun! He loves to bang on everything, so we knew he would love these! We're going to get him an actual drum for his birthday, but until then, he's rockin' out on the pots!

Homemade Pizza

We love making pizza at our house, but for some reason, we've never made homemade dough for it. Tonight, we changed that!
Our beautiful dough after rising for an hour!
Kneading the dough.
Rolling out the dough!
The finished product! Sarah just put cheese on hers.
Bryan and I made a margherita pizza with tomato slices and fresh basil over our homemade sauce! It was really yummy!

New Glasses

We noticed that Sarah was having trouble seeing things around the house, and then she started complaining of having issues at school as well, so we scheduled an eye exam. Her new glasses arrived this week, and she was thrilled!
Her glasses are purple with crowns on the sides. It's as if they were made for her!

New Discovery

A couple of days ago, Jackson discovered that he could climb the stairs! It started once he saw his big sis going up them. Luckily, Bryan and I were right there, so he only made it up two of them before we scooped him up! That night, after tucking him in bed, we ordered a safety gate!
Today, while I was behind him the whole time, he climbed up the stairs again--I really wanted a picture of it!
Almost there! Sissy's waiting at the top!
"I'm so proud of myself!"

Spending Time with an Old Friend

Charlie, one of our favorite people in the whole world, called the other day because he was in town on business and wanted to get together while here. We were so excited!
While he was here for dinner, he held Jackson, played with Sarah, laughed with Bryan, and made fun of me. Good times were had by all!! We love Uncle Charlie and had a great time catching up with him!

Awards Ceremony

This morning, we went to Sarah's Awards Ceremony for the third nine weeks of school. As always, (because she's a genius!), Sarah received awards for being on the "A" honor roll and for having great citizenship! We are just so proud of her!
Way to go, Beara!
Jackson did a great job while we we there!
Although in this picture, he's obviously bored by the conversation! Haha!

Cast Iron Skillet Love!

One of our favorite gifts from Christmas was the cast iron skillet we received from my sister and her boyfriend! It is the best, and here are some of our favorite things to cook in it!
We love making homemade buttermilk pancakes in it. They're thick, fluffy, and delicious! Sarah's become a master flipper!
There are no words for how amazing this bacon macaroni and cheese is!
Blackberry cobbler...yum!
Chicken fried steak with gravy! The homemade fried okra and buttermilk mashed potatoes weren't made in the skillet, but they were yummy too!
This apple cinnamon German pancake is one of our favorites!

Block Towers

We all love playing with Jackson!
And one of my favorite things to do is build a tower out of his blocks.
Whereas Jack's favorite thing to do is knock it down as soon as it's up!
He's a cute little stinker though!!

Family Fun!

Today, we had a lot of family fun!
Bryan helped Sarah with her bike!
She's getting so good!
Jackson and I watched for the sidelines while he hung out in the papoose. He liked it a lot more than this picture lets on...
...see?!
Then, we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for an early dinner.
Jack sat in a high chair for the first time and loved it! Tomorrow, I'm going to buy him a cover to use for the table on the rare occasions like this that we go out!!
He had his first tortilla too!
Cuteness!

Two of a Kind

Check out the cuteness...
...in their matching camo shorts!
