Father's Day Shirt

For one of Bryan's Father's Day gifts, Sarah and I made him a t-shirt with a little town on it.  I originally saw the idea on Pinterest from this blog.  I thought it was so stinkin' cute!  I spent about $4 on the shirt, and I've had fabric markers in my craft stash for about 9 years now, so it was a cheap project!  For some reason though, we kept forgetting about the shirt until yesterday when Bryan got home.

Jackson actually wasn't as interested in driving his cars on the roads as I thought he would be.  He pointed out all of the letters on the shirt though!

My handsome hubby modeling his shirt!
I just free-handed everything and tried to include all of Bryan's favorite places--the Aggie football stadium, (which is actually just the field!), a hardware store, and a pizza parlor.  Sarah actually drew the pizza shop and the windows and doors on the hardware store and our home.  She was also a huge help with the coloring!

Grandparents

This weekend, Bryan's parents came for a quick visit.  With most of our family living 5 hours away, it's hard for them to visit often, and it's even harder for us to go see them.  Because of that, Jackson sometimes has trouble remembering everyone.  He was shy for about 2 minutes when they walked in the front door, but after that...

...he was playing with Grandpa!  Or as Jack started calling him this weekend, "Pa!"

Bryan's mom had knee replacement surgery last month, so they couldn't make it for Jackson's birthday, but the kiddos got lots of great hugs in while Nana and Pa were here!

Sarah and Grandpa always play several rounds of Uno when they're together, and little J wanted to play too...so he helped himself to the cards in Pa's hand!

Sleeping Baby

About a week and a half ago, I went into Jackson's room to check on him towards the end of nap time.
This is what I found!
I thought it was too cute the way he was sleeping on the short side of his crib with his little feet hanging out and holding his blankie.  I'm glad I was able to quietly get the camera and snap this picture!

Cooking with Sarah

Last summer, we began a semi-weekly tradition of having Sarah cook a meal.  Yesterday, we started it up again!
Whipping the homemade whipped cream to go in and on top of her dessert.

 Beating the pie filling.

Folding the cream into the pie filling.

Carefully chopping an onion for spaghetti sauce from scratch.

Choosing which spices to add to the sauce.

Adding Italian seasoning to her sauce.

Stirring the sauce without looking at it!  What a pro!

Topping her baked ziti with lots of cheese.

Coconut cream pie--one of her favorite desserts.

Sarah made baked ziti, Caesar salad, and coconut cream pie!  It was delicious!  But most importantly, she had a great time cooking and was so proud of herself!

Jackson--although not a hard man to please when it comes to food--loved it all!

Park Fun!

This morning, the kids and I went to the park and had a ball!
This particular park is not my favorite because it's really designed for bigger kids, (as you can tell by this swing--this park doesn't have "baby swings" for Bubs), but it is Sarah's favorite!

Jack loves the swings though!  He says "Wee!" the entire time he's on them!

 Look at that smile!!

Sarah loves all of the big slides

 and the monkey bars!

 Adorable!

Jack was a little nervous about going down the slide initially, but big Sissy helped him!

Since most of the things at this park were too big for J, he spent much of his time just running!  It made for an excellent nap time after we were home and bathed!!  : )

Vanilla Ice Cream Day!

Yesterday was National Vanilla Ice Cream Day!  So, after dinner, we made sundaes using our favorite ice cream--Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla.  Our freezer is always stocked with this flavor!

 Sarah put on every topping!

I put sprinkles, M&M's, and chocolate chips on Jackson's ice cream!  He kept saying, "Mmm!"

This was Mommy's--Oreo's, sprinkles, and homemade ganache!  Yum!

Early Morning Walk

Yesterday morning, I loaded up the wee ones and Jack's wagon, and we headed to our favorite trail.

Jackson loves when Sarah runs while pulling him!  It makes him laugh!

 Love these two!

Sarah even snapped a picture of me pulling Jackson!

His sweet smile makes my heart smile.

Adventures in Raising a Boy

Yesterday evening, our sweet boy got his first black eye!  He was playing with Sissy in the den, when he ran into the chair...
 ...and bam!  Black eye!

Since it's a little hard to see, I added this trusty arrow!

Bless his heart.  He cried for just a minute while I held him and repeated, "I'm so sorry you got hurt" and "It's OK, sweetie."

Just a couple of hours before running into the chair, Jackson was curled up under a blanket and reading a good book in it while it rained outside.

This picture is from this morning.  He's obviously not in pain...thank goodness!

Sweetness

I love taking pictures of little every day moments that happen at our house.  It's the little things that make our life so sweet.
Daddy wrapping Jackson up in his towel after bath time.  Jack loves playing peek-a-boo with us once his face is covered with the tiger's face!

Sarah and Mommy snapping a quick shot on our way to a birthday party.

Papa Bear moved onto the floor from the couch the other day, and where Daddy goes, Jack Henry is sure to follow!

Sarah and Mommy after playing Beauty Shop!

Sweet hugs at the grocery store!  This is one of the reasons why I try my darnedest to always have our camera with me!
