Slumber Party...kind of

Yesterday afternoon Sarah's best friend, Sally, came over to spend the night! This was going to be Sarah's first sleepover, and she was beyond excited!
First, we ordered pizza for dinner!
The girls whispered to each other throughout the whole meal--it was so cute!
Then, Papa Bear helped them make ice cream sundaes for dessert!
Thanks, Dad!
This is what the sundaes looked like up close. Check out all of the sprinkles!!
Next, the girls put on their jammies and got cozy to watch a movie.
Then, they decided they wanted us to make a fort for them to sleep in!
Bryan and I then went downstairs to feed Jackson and put him to bed. Shortly after tucking our little man in, Sarah came down to tell us that she came out of the bathroom to find Sally crying. I went to talk to her, and she said she really wanted to go home. I felt so bad. I told her that I would read them a story--the fabulous Pinkalicious--and tuck them in. Sally said that would make her feel better. So, after the story and wishing them both goodnight, I turned off the light. Sally then started crying really hard. I turned the light back on, and Sally said again that she wanted to go home. The girls and I went downstairs, and we called her parents. Bryan and I felt horrible because not only had the girls been looking forward to spending the night together, but Sally's parents were on a date to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. (Sally's mom is a doctor too, so like us, they never get to go on dates!) Her parents showed up around 9:30 to take her home. Sarah was crushed, but said that she had so much fun while Sally was here. Hopefully we can do it again soon!

A New Chair

A couple of days ago, Bryan built a mini rocking chair for Sarah. She was so excited to see it when she got home from school!

A New Hat

This morning, we went to Old Navy to get Bryan some much needed new shorts. While we were there, we also got the little man this new hat:
Cheese!
Bye-bye, everybody! Thanks for stoppin' in!

Looking Out

One of Jackson's new favorite things to do is look out the back door!
He's too cute!

Food for Jack

For the past couple of months, I've been making Jackson's food, and it's been working out so great! I love doing it because I know exactly what he's eating...not to mention it's cheaper!
If I'm not just mashing up something, like a banana, I cook it, puree it, then freeze it in ice cube trays before putting them in freezer baggies.
This is Jack's first time having avocado. He really seemed to enjoy the first few bites, but then he started shaking his head when I attempted to feed him the rest! Haha!
Thus far, he loves bananas, blueberry applesauce, peaches, sweet potatoes, carrots, and peas. Chicken with applesauce is not his favorite, but he'll still eat every bite of it! And last night, I gave him some elbow noodles that I made mac and cheese with for us. He loved the pasta!! He's getting so big!

9 Month Check Up!

Today, we took the little guy to his 9 month check up. Everything went great! He is now 18 pounds, 14 ounces and is 27.8 inches long! His weight puts him in the 25th percentile, but when you hold him, it seems like way more than that!! And his height is in the 75th percentile!

Lost a Tooth!

Sarah lost a tooth today at school, and she was so excited! It's been loose for a couple of weeks now, and before their spelling test today, she just twisted it until it came out! She was really happy to get a groovy pink tooth case to put it in!

9 Months Old!

Today, Jackson is 9 months old! How did that happen?! Bryan and I can't believe how fast he's growing up! We are so blessed to be his parents!
He is getting so big!
He is just the happiest baby!
He has started using just about anything to stand up!
Lately, he's been sporting a little faux hawk!
Here it is from the side!! Haha!
He and Sarah just adore each other! I know there will be sibling disputes over the years, but I really think they're always going to be the best of friends!
  • He got 1 new tooth this month--on March 5th!
  • He said his first word on February 28th...Dada!! It is the absolute cutest thing ever!
  • His second word was Mama! I was so excited when he started saying this, that I forgot to write the date down!
  • He loves crawling all over the house, and he's pretty stinkin' fast too!
  • He comes to you when he wants you to pick him up. It is just the sweetest!
  • He loves being outside.
  • He loves playing with his toys in his crib.

Family Time

Bryan was off today, (finally, bless his heart!), so we had a picnic and visited a duck pond. We had a wonderful time!
Jackson was excited about his first picnic! We gave him some homemade blueberry muffins, and I think he liked them! Shut up! How cute are they?! Love! My favorite little guy! (I didn't know Bryan was taking this one, but I think it's cute!)
Again, shut up!
Beara was so excited when one of the ducks started eating her bread!
She loves feeding the ducks!
Jackson really liked watching them!
While I was holding a piece of bread to show him how to feed the ducks, Jack grabbed half of it for himself! Haha!!

Snuggling

On the weekends, Jackson sleeps in really late. So, when I went to check on him this morning, I found him snuggling with his little Mr. Bear. It's the only toy we always keep in his crib, and he loves it.
How cute!

Thinking of You Gifts

I love giving Sarah and Bryan "Tuesday kind of gifts"--just little somethings to let them know I'm thinking of them. So, today, I surprised both of them with a simple gift.
When Sarah Bear was one, I took her to a duck pond, and this picture of her holding a flower that she picked is one of our favorites! (Sorry, it's a picture of the original, so it's blurry!) So, today, I picked her a bunch of those flowers and left them on her nightstand. She loved it so much that she created this picture! For Bryan, I made one of his favorite cakes from childhood--chocolate cherry with homemade buttercream icing!

Spring Break Recap

I have been looking forward to Spring Break for weeks now, because I knew it meant spending lots of quality time with two of my favorite people:

Princess

(Although we're in green, this picture was not taken on St. Patrick's Day!)
and Bubs!
Since we didn't have to get up early to go to school, Jackson slept until about 9:30 each morning! While he was still snoozing, Sarah and I were able to spend time doing girly things! We played dolls and beauty shop! We read a ton of books and played several board games too, (and I'm sad to say, I lost at each and every one!).
Sarah and I also made strawberry jam and baked snickerdoodles and scones. We even attempted to make green pancakes for St. Patrick's Day, but we tried a different recipe than we normally use, and after the food coloring was added, it did not turn out right!! We went on lots of walks! It was obviously really sunny this day!
We visited a nursery and had such a good time!
She is so pretty!
And he's pretty handsome!
Sarah loved this statue!
Giving Jack a sweet kiss! I love it!
The little man loved looking around at all of the plants, but he also really enjoyed just laying back and eating some sweet potato puffs and Cheerios. He's getting so big!
We bought some Rosemary and Basil, and we can't wait to cook with it! We had a ton of these two herbs last spring, and we loved them...but then Jack was born, and I forgot to water them!
We played a lot, and one of Sarah's favorites was "Doctor!"
I love how she's laughing hysterically because Jack took the blood pressure cuff right off of his arm as soon as she put it on!
Poor Jack sprained his ankle. Good thing Dr. Sarah has been well trained by Dr. Daddy, so she knew just what to do!
(How much do you love his camo shorts?!)
One morning--while Jack was still asleep--Sarah and I had a tea party. Having tea time together is one of our favorite things to do!
