A Cute Shirt and a New Do!

Aunt Hillary made this shirt for Sarah for her birthday. For some reason, I don't think I've taken a picture of it, but it's the cutest!
I also cut Sarah's hair last night--a new do for the summer!

Talking at Dinner

Tonight for dinner, we had tortellini, parmesan green beans, and garlic-butter cheese bread. Sarah had two small helpings of pasta, then Bryan told her that she had to eat all of her green beans before she could have more of anything. Of course, she suddenly didn't like the green beans.... With a pitiful look on her face, she ate her green beans one at a time. Then, as I went to the kitchen, she came with me and asked in a soft voice, (so Bryan wouldn't hear), "Mommy, do I have to eat all of my green beans?" I said, "Yes, Sarah, I can't overrule your daddy." She sadly replied, "I know, I know" and went back to her chair at the table. Once she finished, she and Bryan both wanted the last piece of bread. Since Sarah was having a hard time eating all parts of the bread, (due to her lack of teeth at the moment) she said, "Daddy, let's split it 50-50. You get the crust, I'll get the cheesy bread part. Deal?" She is such a mess!

No School Today

This morning, I was getting ready for work, when I heard Sarah's door creak open. She came into the bathroom and asked me why I didn't wake her up for school. "Mommy, the sun is in my room! Did you forget? Are we going to be late for school?!" I shook my head and said, "No, honey. There is no school today. It's closed for the next week and a half." Sarah rolled her eyes and replied, "Don't tell me it's the pig flu!" Needless to say, she was so excited to be staying at home with Daddy today! (Luckily, he's finished with med school and is at home right now!)

Take Your Daughter to Work Day

Today, Sarah came to work with me, and we had a blast! I work for an electric company and earlier this week she asked me, "Since I can't say electricity that well, can I just call it power?"
Working at my desk: we put together jigsaw puzzles online, wrote stories in Microsoft Word, and ate Goldfish. We had a ton of fun! Then, we went to the park by the office with two of my best friends.
Sarah posing in the bluebonnets. Sarah and Mommy. Sarah and Missi. Missi is Sarah's new favorite! Sarah and Ian dancing in the flowers. Sarah and Ian falling in the flowers. Sarah working at Missi's desk. Sarah and Gabe working hard.... A picture Sarah colored for Gabe--she wrote their names above the boy and girl!
I'm so glad that I work for such a great company, and I was able to take Sarah to work with me today. I'm also glad that it was a slow day so Sarah was able to play games, tell jokes, call some of my fellow employees, and teach Missi and Ben how to do cartwheels!

Last Day of School

Right now, Bryan is on his way home from his last shift of his last rotation of Medical School! It's been a long and exciting four years, and in less than a month, he will graduate! I am so proud of all that he's accomplished in Med School, and I am so happy for him that today is his last day of work!

More Pictures of the House

Here are some pictures of the inside of the house. Since it was one of the model homes for the subdivision, it still has furniture in a few of the rooms.

Sweet Sarah

While we were in the hotel room on Saturday night, Sarah offered to rub Bryan's feet while he was watching the Mavs game. It was so sweet, I had to get a picture!

Our House

This weekend, we went to San Antonio to look at our house. We took Sarah this time so she could see it and pick out her bedroom. It was so exciting to walk around in it and determine where we were going to put furniture and such. We also did an inspection with the builder himself to point out little things that needed to be fixed prior to closing.
Sarah took this picture of us with the sold sign!
After renting the past few years, it was so exciting to see the "Sold" sign on our house. We are so blessed! We can't wait to close on it in less than a month!

Chicken Pot Pie

Last night, I made Chicken Pot Pie for dinner. I sauteed the carrots, celery, and onions, baked then shredded the chicken, added the sauce and seasonings, then put everything into a yummy crust. After Sarah's first bite, she gave me a thumbs up! Then after a few more bites, she said that she didn't really like it and was just trying to be nice with her thumbs up. But then she said something that still makes me sad, "Mommy, I'm sorry, but it's not as good as the school cafeteria's pot pie." So, Bryan told her that she wasn't going to have anything to eat until morning if she didn't finish her chicken pot pie. Sure enough, she did not. This morning, I made her a big bowl of yummy oatmeal.

Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter yesterday! It started with Sarah collecting eggs from around the house, (since it was raining outside!). Sarah loved finding all of her M&M, chocolate covered raisin, and Goldfish filled eggs and looking through her other various goodies from the Easter Bunny. Then we went to church to celebrate the true reason of Easter: Jesus. After the great service, we spent time with Nana, Grandpa, Aunt Rachel, and Grand Nana enjoying conversation, hiding the eggs Sarah and Rachel dyed, and eating a yummy lunch. Once we returned home, Sarah was surprised to find yet another fun basket of goodies from Nona and Grandpa. She has enough chocolate to last until she's 8 years old now!

A Lovely Day

I was off today for Good Friday and it was truly lovely.
First, I brought Chick-fil-A to Sarah's school to eat lunch with her, and we had a great time!
Then, Sarah and I went on a girls' date with Aunt Darbi to see the Hannah Montana movie. (I assumed that she would be out of school today, but due to the ice day a couple of months ago, it became a bad weather make-up day. Well, I didn't know that until after I bought the tickets online for the movie, so I picked her up from school early. When I got to her classroom, Mrs. McDaniel said, "Oh yeah, y'all are going to see Hannah Montana today." Haha! Luckily, Sarah's teacher is cool!)

Aunt Darbi and Sarah holding hands. Sarah just adores her and was even more excited to see her than the movie!

Bryan had a shorter shift in the ER today, so once he got home, we went to Kincaid's to eat cheeseburgers, then watched "The Little Rascals" before we tucked Sarah in. (Halfway through the movie, she said, "They sure are little rascals!")

Lonely

Bryan got home from the ER about 7:20 last night. While he and I were in the kitchen where I was preparing his dinner, Sarah came out of her bedroom and was thrilled to see Daddy! So he gave her a big hug then carried her back to bed. While he was tucking her in, she started crying and begging him to sleep with her. She said, "It's not fair that you sleep with Mommy every night, and no one sleeps in my bed. I get lonely!" Bless her heart. We felt so bad for her. We promised that next weekend when we're visiting San Antonio she can sleep with Daddy at the hotel. That didn't help her though, and she just ended up crying herself to sleep.

Model Magic Art

Sarah made this sculpture of her teacher, Mrs. McDaniel, in art class. She even added a pearl necklace! I thought it was too cute! (She wanted to show it to us before actually giving it to Mrs. McDaniel.)

Physician in Training

Bryan received his Physician in Training Medical License in the mail yesterday!  He was so excited when he opened it. I framed it because it's so neat, and he's worked very hard for it. Way to go, babe!

Cuddily

After school, Sarah and I went to Build-A-Bear to use her gift card. She picked out a bunny and named her Cuddily.
Sarah and Cuddily getting ready for bed--Sarah in her jammies and Cuddily in her robe, (that's right, a robe!). On a completely separate note, this is Sarah playing the air guitar while we were rocking out to Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name."
