Jackson Goes to Camp

The day after the 4th, we took Jackson to camp for his second summer in a row!  He was so excited!

He's been counting down the days to camp for months!

When we picked him up, his counselor gave him an award for some of the specific characteristcs he saw in Jackson over the week.  His great qualities were being eager, enthusiastic, friendly, engaging, and joyful!  We totally agree!

We are so proud of him for letting his light shine while he was at camp!  On the car ride home, Jackson told us all about the fun he had and already asked if he can go back next year!

4th of July

The 4th of July is one of our favorite holidays, and we had a great one!

We started the day with lots of food!

Then, I had to take pictures of the kiddos in their red, white, and blue!

In the evening, we all went swimming!

And after swimming for a bit, we had s'mores!

It was the perfect day!

Jackson's Birthday Party

Last week, we had a little party for our birthday boy with family!

Jackson chose Star Wars as his theme, and I think it turned out so cute!

This was one of my favorite parts of the party decor, pictures of our little guy!

I love a good theme, and I really love clothing that goes along with the theme!

Getting into character!

J wanted food from 2 of his favorite chicken places.

So, we had chicken strips, sauce, and garlic toast from Cane's,

and then, mashed potatoes, gravy, and okra from Chicken Express.

I found this Darth Vader chip bowl online and had to get it!

For dessert at the party, we made oreo milkshakes!

We also had a pinata!

We decided to do it inside since it was so hot out!

This is one of his favoritge gifts--a sword from his dojo set!

Jackson's Birthday

On Saturday, our littlest baby turned 10!
While he was still sleeping, I tiptoed into his room to put a new Nerf Gun on his bed...and I accidentally woke him up!  He didn't care at all, especially after he saw the gun!

Then, we made him his requested homecooked meal--a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich!

We followed that up with the birthday dessert that he chose--banana pudding.

Then, it was time for gifts!

He requested a lot of video games,

and that's what he got!

He also wanted a poster of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

He was so excited!

We can't believe he's 10, but we loved celebrating him!
