Jackson and I had a typical morning. We took Sissy to school, then came home and got dressed for the day. Then, we both got our own bowl of cereal, although we ended up sharing Mommy's--we always share cereal! After eating, we reviewed animal flash cards and made the sounds of all of the animals we already know and also learned some new animals. Next, we colored and drew pictures of our family, and Jackson made sure that Mommy put an A&M hat on everyone's head! Then, we read some books, and Jackson showed me how he can drive in his car. After all of that fun, it was time to go get a haircut! We had been talking about it all morning! I told J that he would get to drive the red car and watch a movie while the nice lady cut his hair! Doesn't that sound like fun?! So, we headed to the haircut shop! (Daddy won't let Mommy call it a salon since J's a boy, so it's the haircut shop!) We walked in, and Jackson was still doing great! Then, we went to get in the red car, and he lost it! And by lost it, I mean total melt down! He was grabbing every part of me in an attempt to not sit down in the car and get his hair cut! He was screaming and crying! I offered him his snacks, his milk, the baggie of M&M's I had in my pocket, and the lollipops I had in my other pocket. He wasn't having any of it! After repeatedly trying to console him and repeatedly apologizing to Brandi, the sweet lady who was going to cut his hair, I finally asked her if we could sit in a chair with him in my lap. She was more than fine with that option. Jack wasn't a fan of that either though! Brandi put a cape on me and a smaller one on Jackson. Just in case you were curious, he did not like the cape! She started cutting his hair with a trimmer. We've always used just scissors, so this was new. While she worked, I held his arms and his head, and Jackson showed off the power of his lungs. I turned him around and Brandi did the other side of his hair. When she was finished, Jackson immediately stopped yelling and crying. Immediately! He asked for his milk and his lollipop--which actually wasn't from my stash, but one that Brandi had given him and he threw on the floor (while still in the wrapper) as soon as we sat in the chair! She took the capes off of both of us, and I asked her if she wouldn't mind taking a picture. I really wanted to have a tangible memory of this day!

This picture cracks me up!! Look at his red, puffy eyes! Bless his heart!
When Sarah was 18 months, she had her first official hair cut at Mommy's salon, and she sat in my lap too! Like her brother, she was not a fan! I have two other pictures from this hair cut where she's really crying, but I just love this one because she's holding on to me!
I was really hoping that since this was Jackson's second professional hair cut, he would have behaved better since he knew what was coming. Boy, was that wishful thinking! Regardless, his hair looks great, and Brandi got a hug from Jack and a huge tip!
