Happy Birthday, Jackson!

4 years ago today, God blessed us with our sweet baby boy.  We fell in love with him from the moment we found out we were expecting.  Then, when they placed the blue-eyed, 7 pound, 6 ounce ball of cuteness in our arms, we fell even more in love!  He is the sweetest and funniest little thing.  He is all boy and all heart.

Jackson has had such a big year!
  • He is the sweetest little boy!  He loves doing things for people:  holding open doors, setting the table at dinner, getting our shoes--and helping put them on!--telling Sarah and Mommy that we "wook pretty!"
  • He gives the best hugs--he squeezes you with his whole body!
  • His favorite foods are:  chicken, cheeseburgers, macaroni and cheese, peach cobbler, cake pops, strawberry milk, and sweet tea.  He's always up for trying new foods--sometimes he'll ask for a bite of what you're eating, but most of the time, he'll just take it right off of your plate!
  • He loves reading!  At night after we read him a story, he sits in his bed and looks at a handful of books until he falls asleep.
  • He loves going to church each Sunday!  And afterwards, when we ask him what he learned about, he always shouts, "Jesus!"
  • He makes us laugh every day!
  • He loves to sing songs and sings often to himself after we've tucked him in at night.  His favorites are the one I made up for him when he was baby, songs about colors that he learned in school, "I'm in the Lord's Army," "Jesus Loves Me," and "Jingle Bell Rock".
  • He went to school for the very first time!  It was only twice a week, but it was a big deal!
  • He is potty-trained!
  • He loves building train tracks--we do this every day...sometimes multiple times...and usually after dinner, he'll ask Daddy, "Pwease, wanna build train tracks with me?!"  Daddy can never say no!
  • He also loves reading, driving his car and dump truck around the house, puzzles, playing with blocks,  lining up all of his cars and trucks, playing football with Daddy, baking with Mommy, and doing anything with Sissy!
  • He went to the dentist for the first time this year, and did great!
  • He can spell so many words!  And he's constantly asking us how to spell new words!
  • He sleeps in a big boy bed!
  • He loves to pray before dinner, even though he's usually started eating already!  And he likes to race Sarah in saying grace!
We love him so!
