Jackson's Birthday!

Yesterday, our second baby turned 13!

We started celebrating him on Sunday by making his homemade birthday meal.  He requested beef wellington, casear salad, and butterbeer.  He was so excited when it was time to eat!

Then for dessert, s'mores!

Our fire pit is broken, so we made them inside using the gas stove.  It was so much better because we weren't in the Texas summer heat, and there were no flies!

Then, yesterday, on his actual birthday, we took him out to eat and had birthday cake and opened gifts when we got home.

Even though he's 13--and only an inch shorter than me--he will always be our baby.

Father's Day

This year marks Bryan's 20th year being a father.  And for 20 years, he's been the absolute best Dad to our kids.

We celebrated Papa Bear by grilling a ton of sausage and making one of his favorite pies.  He's truly the best Dad ever!

Bryan's Birthday!

Since Bryan was out of town on his actual birthday, we decided to celebrate it afterwards while Sarah was home.

We actually celebrated with two of our traditional home cooked meals!  The first night was charcuterie

and blackberry coffee cake for dessert.

Then, we celebrated with pasta braciole,  bruschetta,

and oatmeal cookie sandwiches!

We love Papa Bear so much, and it was so fun to celebrate him!

Jack Goes to Camp, and Sarah Comes Home

At the end of May, Jack went to Pine Cove for a week.  He's been going each summer for the past few years, and he loves it!

This is him running to us when we got there to pick him up!  Precious.

We missed him so!

His counselor said that J's characteristics are insightful and teachable.  Those are both very true.

While Jack was at camp, Sarah was home!  We spent quite a bit of time with her and Billy, and it was so much fun!

We took Sarah to see the progress on our new house, and while we were there, we stopped at our new favorite restaurant and ordered a lot of dessert!

Another night with Sarah, we ate some delicious tacos, then stopped for gelato on the way home!

We just love spending time with her!

Boys' Trip

Last month, Bryan and Jack took a trip to Louisiana and Mississippi with Gus and Bryan's Dad to celebrate his 65th birthday.

While there, they visited the WWII museum.

We actually visited this museum a few years ago on a family vacation, but Bryan and Jack loved it so much, that they wanted to go back.

I don't know if anyone knows more about WWII than Jack!

After their day at the museum, they went fishing on the Mississippi.

Jack was so excited to go!

This is the fish he caught.

Then, he caught a couple of sharks!

So did Bryan!

They had a great time on their boys' trip, but I sure was happy to have them back home!
