Sweet Sarah

As sweet Sarah's getting older, Bryan and I are becoming such great friends with her!  It's been so fun!

 

Last Wednesday, Bryan started serving at our church's youth night.  He's mentoring the 8th grade boys, and he really loves that he gets to spend time with Sarah while he's there.  On their way home from church, he and Sarah picked up dinner for the three of us.  Any time we have dinner--or dessert!--with Sarah once J's in bed, we just stand around the island to eat and talk.  We always have so much fun doing this, and we have to try really hard to not wake Jackson!

On Thursday morning, Sarah and I did more talking and laughing than we did reading from our Bible, but it was perfect!  We just love watching our sweet girl grow up, and we're having the best time getting even closer to her!

Sweet Jackson

Yesterday evening, not too long after reading to Jackson and tucking him in, he came downstairs to read on the couch.  Papa Bear and Sarah were at church, so I let Jackson stay up for a bit.  He sweetly laid his head on me and read his book.

Later that night, when I went up to check on him and kiss him one more time, I could barely see him buried in all of his stuffed animals!  He's too cute!

Love Notes

We have this frame in the kitchen where I write little notes to Bryan, Sarah, and Jackson a couple of times a week. 

The other night, when Bryan and I got home from our separate Bible studies, Sarah had sweet notes waiting for us! 

 

This is the note I left for her while she was at school on Tuesday,

and this is what she wrote me back.  It was so sweet!

Banana Split

Whenever the kids have to go to the doctor or dentist, I always take them to get a treat afterwards.  Yesterday Jackson got a tooth pulled, so I told him he could get a big treat.

 

He chose a banana split!

He was so brave at the dentist!  I was so proud of him!

The cherries are always his favorite part--just like his Daddy!



Family Date

Friday afternoon, we picked Sarah up from school, then headed to dinner for a family date!  The first stop was our new favorite taco restaurant!

 

I just love these two!

They are just the cutest!

After tacos, we went to a little ice cream shop!  Jackson loves riding in this car every time we come!

They're my favorite!

While we were at the ice cream shop, Sarah said, "You two are marriage goals!'  And I said, "Shut up!  That's so nice!"

No one makes me scrunch my nose from smiling so big like my hubby!

Bluebonnets

Jackson and I went to see the bluebonnets this afternoon.

 

This one is my favorite!

He loves the bluebonnets!

I mean!

He's the cutest!

Once we were finished taking pictures, he wanted to pick some flowers for Sarah!

He couldn't wait to surprise her with them when we picked her up from school!  He's the sweetest!

Sarah loved them!  She said it made her day!

Report Cards

The kids just got their report cards back, and they did awesome!  Sarah's lowest grade was a 99, and Jackson had all A's and 100's in social studies and reading!

 

As always, we are so proud of them!

Sarah's Birthday Party!

On Saturday, we had Sarah's birthday party!  She wanted to take three of her best friends to tea again this year!  Sarah and the sweet girls were so excited!

After tea and antique shopping, the girls settled in for a slumber party with pizza and tons of snacks!

Cooking with Sarah

Sarah and I have been in the kitchen a lot lately, and we both just love it!

 

One morning before school, she and I made blueberry muffins!

They were so yummy!

Over Spring Break, we made blueberry pancakes together!  We had a blast cooking in our jammies that morning!  Then, she made dinner one night!  She's pouring the chocolate ganache on her tart here.

Sautéing spinach

and cutting up zucchini for her lasagna.

She made feta dip,

spinach and butternut squash lasagna,

and a chocolate caramel tart!  It was all delicious!

 

And to top off her yummy food, she said that being in the kitchen with me is her favorite!  It's my favorite too!

Coffee Dates

Our family loves going on little dates!  We try to be really intentional about one-on-one time.  And our dates usually involve coffee!

 

This was our Thursday date a couple of weeks ago.  It was the perfect thing after school because poor J had a rough day that day.

 

 

Last Sunday morning, Bryan and I had a breakfast date at Starbucks.  It was so nice to be there just the two of us while the kiddos were spending the night away.

 

This Wednesday on our weekly date, Sarah and I went over her story that she was going to give that night at church.

This picture makes beautiful Sarah look like she's 20!

A new--and adorable!--coffee shop opened up in our little town, so Sarah and I had a coffee date two days in a row this week!  Our dates are one of my favorite parts of each week, so I loved being able to have two this week! 

Jackson wanted to visit the new coffee shop too, so that's where he requested to go on our date yesterday.  He ordered a babycchino and felt so grown up drinking from the real coffee cup!  I flippin' love this picture!
