Santa Claus!

Yesterday after school, we took the kiddos to Bass Pro Shop to have their picture taken with Santa. We actually attempted to go on Sunday, but there was a 3 hour wait! Craziness!
Sarah was a little nervous to see Santa, but he asked her what she wanted for Christmas and told her that she was on the nice list. Jackson went from my arms to Santa's, and he never took his eyes off of Bryan and me. So, he had no idea that some jolly old man was holding him!!

Silliness

Sarah and I added some silliness to this picture!

Christmas Pictures

Last week when Bryan's family was here, they were nice enough to take some family pictures of us!
I love how they got Jackson to smile in this one!
I think this one is my favorite!

25 Days of Christmas

Christmas is our favorite time of year, so I came up with a list of activities for us to do each day leading up to it.
  1. Finish decorating the house for Christmas
  2. Donate canned food to our local food bank
  3. Mail Sarah's letter to Santa at Macy's
  4. Watch The Polar Express and drink hot chocolate
  5. Pictures with Santa
  6. Pick an Angel to give to
  7. Wrap presents
  8. Make a big pot of apple cider and sing Christmas carols
  9. Help Sarah pick out a Christmas gift for Jackson
  10. Get in jammies, make cocoa, and go look at Christmas lights
  11. Watch The Elf
  12. Bake and decorate cookies
  13. Look at old Christmas pictures
  14. Take the kids' picture in front of the tree
  15. Make a Christmas card for Sarah's teacher
  16. Bake goodies for the crossing guards at Sarah's school
  17. Christmas party in Sarah's class
  18. Watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  19. Read Christmas stories in front of the fire
  20. Build a gingerbread house
  21. Open Christmas gifts
  22. Make smores and eat them in front of the fire
  23. Watch Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
  24. Bake a birthday cake for Jesus
  25. Read the Nativity Story

Christmas Tree

One of Sarah's favorite things to do for Christmas is decorating the tree!
She thoughtfully decides where each ornament will go. Just right!
Ta-da! All finished!

5 Months Old!

Today, our little man is 5 months old! We can't believe how big he is!
5 month old cutie! Aren't I handsome in my button down and sweater vest from my Nana?!
I sure love my Daddy!
But I also love staring at ceiling fans!
I love playing with my sissy...
...even though I think she's crazy!
  • He loves to eat!
  • He entertains himself at times simply by gurgling and blowing raspberries!
  • He loves playing with his stuffed animals.
  • He thinks rolling over is the coolest!
  • He enjoys being read to...and he also enjoys trying to put the book in his mouth!
  • He is fascinated by watches.
  • He loves playing with his feet, and is so close to getting them in his mouth!
  • He adores watching football with Daddy.
  • He loves pulling Mommy's hair.

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving yesterday with Bryan's family here to join us! And I think I enjoyed it even more because it was Jackson's first Thanksgiving!
Jackson hanging out in his Thanksgiving onesie from my dad! Jack still in the onesie, but now showing off his huge thighs as well!
Sarah helping me make a pumpkin cream pie...it was so yummy!
The kiddos before we ate, (I don't know why Jack can't smile once the camera appears!)
While we feasted on ham and turkey, Jack enjoyed some Thanksgiving staples of his own--sweet potatoes and green beans. (He also had oatmeal and bananas to round out the meal, but I don't know who eats that at their holiday dinner!)
After eating, Jackson was pooped, so he had a nice nap with Grand Nana.

Rollin' Over

Yesterday afternoon, Daddy and Jackson were on the floor enjoying a football game, when Jack decided to roll over! He's getting to be such a big boy!!
Look what I can do!

Thanksgiving Play

Today, Jackson and I attended a play put on by Sarah's class!
Jackson thought his sister's performance was riveting! Out of about 12 pictures, this one turned out the best! Our star after the show--complete with a pilgrim hat she made and her jammies, (they got to wear them today for doing so well on their reading!). Last week, we disguised this turkey for a project using one of Sarah's baby doll bonnets and an old diaper of Jack's!

Doctor Visit

This morning was Jackson's 4 month check-up! Luckily, Bryan was post-call, (and got even more sleep at the work last night than I did), so he went with me! Jack has gained three whole pounds--all of which went to his thighs!--and grown three inches in the last two months!!
Hangin' out with Daddy while waiting for the doctor!
Notice all the drool on Daddy's shirt! Just talkin' away! Although I'm not smiling, look at how handsome I am in my jeans!

Pajamas!

Two cuties in their jammies!

Food

For the past few weeks, Jackson has been eating lots of food! He really doesn't care for the rice cereal that much, but he loves sweet potatoes, pears, and green beans! We tried peaches for the first time this morning, but he kept flaring his nostrils and scowling after each bite...so, we'll try those again tomorrow!
Yum!

Awards Ceremony

This morning, Jackson and I attended Sarah's awards ceremony!
Sarah received awards for A Honor Roll, great citizenship, her advanced reading points, and never being tardy! Sarah was so happy her little brother came! And I was so happy that he was so well behaved!

Trick or Treat!

Sarah Bear loves Halloween! But then again, what's not to love about dressing up and candy?! This year, she was Little Red Riding Hood, and she was adorable!
Sarah and Jackson!
I love the look he's giving her--my sister is crazy! My dad came down to visit this weekend, which was perfect since Bryan was on call Halloween night. What a goober! Sarah picking out candy from our neighbors!
Jackson had the cutest little Frankenstein onesie from my dad. It said "Daddy's Little Monster."
Sarah with Alec, her friend from school who lives down the street from us.
