Galveston

A couple of months ago, we took a road trip to Galveston, a place that we've been to more times than we can count.  It's the first place we went on vacation when Sarah was a baby, when we couldn't afford to go anywhere else, but we keep going back because it holds a place in our hearts.

The house we rented had an amazing view of the private beach that was just a few yards away.  It was beautiful.

One of the things we always do is go for a walk along the pier, and we always take this picture.

I love recreating these pictures because you can really see how much the kids have grown and changed.

And we always stop at our favorite ice cream shop--

at least a couple of time!

In addition to spending time at the beach, we also love to just hang out together at the house.

Game night is a must on every trip!

As usual, we had the best time being together at the beach!

Sarah’s First and Last Day of School

This is Sarah on her very first day of school.

We are beyond proud of this sweet girl.  It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life watching her grow and shine over the past 13 years of school, and I can’t wait for all that’s ahead of her!

 

Mother’s Day

My dream job, for the past 18 years, has been being their Mama.  

I am so blessed that they are mine.

After taking pictures in fancy clothes, we changed and went to dinner at Shake Shack.  It was the best!

Sarah’s Birthday

Sarah's birthday celebration technically started last weekend.

We went to her favorite restaurant for lunch and took a couple of pictures in the bathroom.  Obviously.

Then, this past Saturday--her actual birthday--we hosted a party for her 6 best friends!

It was Sarah's idea that they all dress up

and have a "fancy" charcuterie dinner with homemade creme brulee for dessert.

Yesterday, when she got home from work, we had her birthday meal, (salad, bread, and pesto pasta), and chocolate cake for dessert.

We still can't believe she's 18!

18 years ago today, God blessed us with our baby girl.  It has been one of the greatest joys of our life to watch her grow into the beautiful and amazing person she is.  She may be 18 today, but she’ll always be our baby.

18 years ago yesterday, I married my best friend.  I am beyond grateful for the past 18 years and the sweet life we’ve built together.  I am so thankful that God made him for me and me for him.
