In the Spring, we had a terrible storm that caused a ton of hail damage to our house--mainly our roof, gutters, and a sun roof in our master bathroom. Last month, we finally had all of that repaired. While our contractor--and family friend--was repairing everything, he was going to clean some of our brick that had been really discolored from the sprinklers over the years. Well, that discoloration wouldn't come off, so he suggested painting the brick. I was immediately on board, but I knew we would have to convince Bryan. It actually didn't take that long to convince him at all!
We decided to paint the house a dark gray with white trim, add black cedar shutters, and make the roof shingles black. We love it!
After we finished, I contacted another company to put an overlay on our concrete porch to make it look like hardwood floors.
I love how the porch turned out!
The front door is my absolute favorite!
We've been wanting a new front door since we moved in--the one that was here was so plain and so damaged by the previous owner's dog's. This one is so beautiful!
While our friend was working on our house, he thankfully talked Bryan into tearing down the back pergola...something I had been trying to convince him to do for some time myself. It was old and rotting and needed to be removed.
Our contractor suggested that while the roof was being torn off, it was the perfect time to add this new addition. We love it! We decided to keep the brick on the chimneys the old brick color, and we're so glad we did. We just love the character!
