Last Day of School!

Today was the kids last day of school!  I am so excited to have them home for the next couple of months!  I'm going to squeeze the dickens out of them!!

This was our baby girl on the first day of 7th grade!

And this is her today!

I swear it was just yesterday we were walking her to kindergarten and her princess backpack was bigger than she was!

Sarah already received her final exam grades from all of her classes--the lowest grade was a 97!  She always amazes us with how smart she is!
Sarah's favorite parts of 7th grade were:  band and science, some of her teachers, reading club, and making more friends and becoming even closer to her old friends!

This was our little man on his first day of kindergarten!

And this is him today!

Such an adorable ham!

He looks so little here!

He has grown so much this year--in every aspect of the word!  We started teaching him sight words when he was 3, and now, he's reading non-stop!  We are so proud of him!
Jackson's favorite parts of kindergarten were:  his teacher, Mrs. Knotts, building blocks in free centers, learning how to read more, computer class, and his friends!

I can't get over how fast our babies are growing up!

I wish time would stand still!

We are so proud of these two, and we know they're going to continue to shine!

After school, we went out for our traditional "last day of school treat!"  The kids always love doing this, and so do I!

Pictures from Kindergarten

Jackson's teacher is like me...in that she loves taking pictures!  Throughout the year, she's taken tons of snapshots of the whole class, and I just adore these little peeks into Jackson's school day!

This one pulls at my heart strings, because Jackson looks so little!

This is their whole class on Fun Run day!

Then, they made applesauce!

How cool is that?!

This is from their zoo trip!  I was there for this field trip--we had so much fun!

Halloween!

I love my cute little cowboy with his hands in his pockets!

His hat on the table while he eats his candy cracks me up!  Such a gentleman!

Our Thanksgiving turkey!

Papa Bear and I had lunch with Jackson for Thanksgiving!

In front of the kindergarten Christmas tree!

This is from their Valentine's party!  We made ice cream sundaes!

End of the Year Party

This morning, Jackson's class had their end of the year party!

We all brought breakfast goodies for them to eat before heading outside to play some games!

Up first were sack races!  J loved this!

This is one of his best friends!

Then, they played ring toss!

This one's my favorite!

While they were blowing bubbles, it started raining, so we went inside to watch the slideshow that his sweet teacher put together of pictures from throughout the year.  I got all choked up at the end!  I can't believe tomorrow is our baby's last day of kindergarten!

An Early Birthday for Jackson

Since Jackson's birthday is during the summer, his sweet teacher asked us if we wanted to celebrate with the class before school was over.  So, today, Bryan and I took cupcakes to Jackson's class!

 He was so excited!

The whole class sang him "Happy Birthday!"  It was so cute!  And the whole class also loved the Iron Man and Captain America themed cupcakes!

After cupcakes, Jackson got to play on the class i-Pad, and he looked too adorable not to take a picture!

A Simple Weekend and S'mores

We had a pretty low key weekend, and it was perfect!  Sarah had her best friend spend the night on Saturday, and then she spent the night over there after church on Sunday.  On Monday, Papa Bear was off, so after sleeping in (which was glorious!), we went to the grocery store and to get donuts with Jackson.  After we picked Sarah up, Bryan grilled steaks for dinner, and I made macaroni and cheese and a huge fruit salad.  Then for dessert...

...we had s'mores!

We decided to roast the marshmallows inside because it was so stinkin' hot outside, and it was perfect!  The kids loved it!  Jackson managed to make a s'more with all three kinds of candy and both marshmallows!

Peach Cobbler with Jackson

On Sunday night, Jackson and I made a peach cobbler!

He loves being in the kitchen, and he's such a great helper!

His little tongue sticking out!  Love!

Making sure it tastes great before popping it in the oven!

And still taste testing!

As always, he did a great job!

Yearbook

Jackson got his yearbook last Friday!  He was so excited, and looked through the whole thing when we got home from school.  I can't believe our baby is old enough to have a yearbook!
