Bacon for Daddy

Yesterday, Papa Bear came home from his overnight call shift sick, so on the way home from school, I told J we needed to be quiet when we got home because Daddy was sleeping. We started talking about how we should pray for Daddy, and then Jackson exclaimed, "we should make him bacon! Daddy woves bacon!  It will make him feel better!"  (He also wanted to make Daddy steak, but we didn't have any!)

So we prayed...and made bacon...and a get well card!

I just love Jackson and his sweet little heart!

Contacts for Sarah!

Today was a big day for Sarah Bear!  She got contacts!  She was so excited...and a little nervous!

Since her appointment was in the morning, I thought it would be fun to have a breakfast date beforehand!  So, we went to the little tea shop in town and had such a great time together!

Sarah's had glasses since kindergarten, so getting contacts was a big deal!  This is one of my all time favorite pictures of her, (and cute Papa Bear!), in Sarah's first pair of glasses!  These little red glasses are still my favorite!

She looks so grown up!

She's so beautiful!

Serving

The three of us love serving at church each Sunday! Sarah helps in the two-year-old room and just adores her babies! Bryan and I greet sweet families and help with the elementary kiddos! We can't wait until Jackson's old enough to serve too!

Food Fun

On Saturday, we had a huge dinner full of homemade southern goodness!  Bryan and I cooked it together, and had the sweetest time!  I just love being in the kitchen with him!  We made chicken fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, fried okra, sautéed spinach, and biscuits.

Last night, I made dessert for dinner!  It's always funny when we have dessert for dinner, because Jackson will ask "Rewwy?!  We're not having reguwar food, just treats?!"  Anyway, they were decadent bars with layers of chocolate chip cookies, oreos, and brownies.  Then, because I can't leave well enough alone, I topped them with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge!  They were so good!  Bryan already asked me to pack him some for his call shift tomorrow!

Jackson and His Dinosaur

One of Jackson's favorite toys is this huge dinosaur from Santa!

He loves playing with him, and I think it's so fun to watch!

Coffee and Coloring

Yesterday morning while Daddy was at a work meeting, Sarah and I spent some sweet time together.  We had coffee and colored and talked the whole time!  I just adore spending time with my baby girl!

Date with Jackson

Friday night, while Sarah was at a birthday party, Bryan and I had the pleasure of going on a date with our favorite fella!  We went out for ice cream and then pizza--because dessert is the best!

Sweetness

The other day, Sarah ran up to me and grabbed my hand just because she wanted to hold it.  My heart melted!  I hope she's never too old to hold her Mama's hand!

"I wove you super much, Mommy!"  My new favorite Jacksonism!

I just love my precious babies so much!  They bring more joy to my heart than I ever imagined possible!

Ice Cream Date

Today after school, Sarah had UIL practice, so I took Jackson to get a much needed haircut, and then out for a little ice cream!

He's just the cutest!

We had such a sweet time talking about his first day back at school after Christmas break!  And we even tried each other's ice cream--he loved my coffee flavor, and after a little bit of begging, I gave in and had a lick of his blue cotton candy!  I just love spending time with him!

Family Date

Yesterday after church, we went on a family date to see Star Wars!

Of the four of us, only Bryan has seen them before, yet Jackson is currently obsessed with Darth Vader--his "favorite bad guy!"

J was so cute during the movie, saying, "go, good guys; that was a close one; oh no; nice shot!"  Sarah loved it, and Jackson was so happy the good guys won!  On the way out of the theatre, Jackson was attacking Sissy with his imaginary light saber claiming she was a bad guy!  It was such a great date!

For dinner, we went out for frozen yogurt!  Jackson kept asking if we were going to eat real food or "just candy!"  Ha!  It was truly the sweetest day!

Darth Vader Breakfast

We got J tons of Darth Vader things for Christmas, so last week, we had a Darth Vader themed breakfast!

He loved it!  He kept saying, "Happy Darth Vader Breakfast Day!"

The cutest bad guy I've ever seen!

Legos

Jackson got tons of Lego sets for Christmas, and he has been busy building away!  One morning, he and I made the shuttle and the firetruck!  We had the best time together, and he was so proud of his creations!

Hello

This mug was Sarah's Christmas gift!  It cracks her up each time she uses it...and it startles me each time I open the cabinet!

Darth Vader

We got Jackson a Darth Vader mask for Christmas, and Santa brought him a light saber.  To say he's obsessed is an understatement!

I took this picture right after he told Bryan, "I am the father!"

All Darth.  All the time.
