Yesterday, Bryan's parents came to town and treated us to a date night for an early anniversary gift! The last time we went on a date was about 8 months ago, and it was to a residency function for Bryan, so it really didn't count! We had the best time together enjoying each other's company and great food at a new restaurant. As much as we adore our kiddos, it was so nice to get dressed up and eat dinner without having to help Sarah cut her food and feed Jackson pureed bananas while your meal gets cold!!

7 Months Old!
Yesterday, our little man turned 7 months old! He had a little cold so he spent most of the day asleep on Bryan and me though, so we took his picture this morning. (Thankfully, he seems to be feeling much better!)
- He is such a happy baby--unless he's tired or hungry.
- He loves to clap! He started doing it when he was just playing, but now he will do it to music and when you ask him to as well! It is too cute!
- He gives high fives if you hold your hand out and ask for one! Bryan has been trying to teach him this since we brought him home from the hospital, so he's really proud of this one!
- He loves to eat! Fruits and vegetables are still his favorites, but he also likes yogurt and macaroni and cheese.
- He has so much fun rolling his way all across the house.
- He loves sleeping on his tummy--sometimes while sticking his little bottom in the air!
- He has the sweetest little personality, and he makes us so happy!
Awards Ceremony
Yesterday morning, Bryan, Jackson, and I went to Sarah's Awards Ceremony.
Sarah's reading group performed a play at the beginning--it was really cute!
Sarah posing with two of her best friends, Lisette and Jaylen.
When we arrived, Jaylen came up to Bryan with Sarah and said, "I've never seen your dad before. Cool!"
Then, while Bryan was holding Jackson, Lisette said to us, "You have a nice baby."
Both comments made us laugh!!

Push-ups
Whether it's hanging out with us or playing with his toys, Jackson loves being on the floor! He can get just about anywhere he wants to go by rolling or scooting backwards--he still hasn't mastered going forwards yet. One of his other favorite things to do while on the floor is a push-up!

Wedding Talk
Bryan's sister and her boyfriend are getting married in October! We could not be more excited for them!! Sarah has been asking us about the details of the wedding since we found out the big news. Yesterday, she asked, "Are Aunt Rachel and Uncle Gus going to have a reception? Do you think I'll be invited? The receptions are the only reason I go to weddings!" What a ham!! Then, last night after I tucked her in bed, Rachel called to ask if Sarah and I would be her bridesmaids. I couldn't wait to tell Sarah this morning! Of course, she screamed and jumped around. Then, I asked her if she knew what a bridesmaid does. She stopped jumping and said, "No, what do they do?" I informed her that we would get to wear pretty dresses and stand next to Aunt Rachel. Sarah asked me if we would be able to walk down the aisle. I said that she would actually get to walk down the aisle with Uncle Gus's dad, to which she replied, "That's awkward. I'm going to be 8, and he's so old." Lovely, huh?! I have a feeling the next few months leading up to the wedding and Sarah being a bridesmaid will be filled with lots of silliness from Sarah!

Sippy Cup
This week we started Jackson on a sippy cup. We were worried how it would go since he's only used a bottle twice, but he did great right from the start! I put apple juice in it, and he was hooked!

Just like Daddy!
When Jackson hangs out on the couch with us, he always tries to get the remote control from Daddy. You can tell he's thinking, Why does Daddy always have that? If I can just get close enough, I can put that in my mouth. So, this weekend I cleaned a spare one and gave it to him! He was so happy!
Feeding
A couple of nights ago while Bryan and I were cooking dinner, Sarah offered to start feeding Jackson his oatmeal. She said, "Mommy, he's a good eater for me because I use the train choo-choo method!"
