This afternoon, Sarah and I made a very patriotic snack! Besides eating the goodies before putting more on the sticks, Sarah's favorite part was creating different patterns!

A Simple Gesture with my Favorite Helper!
A couple of days ago, Papa Bear mentioned that he could go for some of my homemade chocolate chip cookies. Since Sarah and I love to bake, I thought what better way to spend the afternoon?
Stirring in the chocolate chips!
Licking the beater--that was always my favorite part too!
Scooping out the dough!

It's Official!
Last week, Bryan received his trusty pager. Supposedly, it will rule his life this year, but for the following three years, it will primarily only be used while he's at the hospital, (hot dog!).
Tomorrow morning, before the sun rises, Bryan will put on his white coat, place his stethoscope around his neck, and head off to the hospital. Tomorrow morning, his patients will not call him Student Doctor Crowder, but Doctor Crowder. Tomorrow morning, Bryan is an actual physician. Tomorrow morning, he is officially a doctor.

A Tire Swing!
Papa Bear spent the better part of this afternoon building a tire swing for Sarah! He did such a great job! I helped too--making him ice water, cleaning the tire, and hanging it with him!
Tonight, we had our good friends, Tom, Wendy, and Sally, over for dinner. They lived two houses down from us in Fort Worth, and Bryan and Wendy were in the same med school class. Now, they're both doing their residency together here in San Antonio. Sarah and Sally had a blast playing on the tire swing!

Tea Party
Since Bryan is at his second day of orientation at the hospital, Sarah and I decided to have a tea party this afternoon! We baked raspberry scones and made different kinds of finger sandwiches with cucumber, turkey, and ham. We had a wonderfully girly time!
I took this picture before we moved everything to the table to dine. I love that her pinkie is raised!
I have such a great time with Sarah whenever we have hot tea. We both speak with an English accent, and she says such things as:
--"Don't you think this tea is delightful, madame?"
--"I declare, these are wonderful scones!"
--"Would you be so kind as to pass the sugar, darling?"

Father's Day!
Father's Day was simple and relaxing at our house yesterday. It started with Sarah waking us up a little before 7:00 to wish Daddy a Happy Father's Day!

Overheard at Our House
"Try to keep the cinnamon predominately on the toast and within the confines of the pan."
--Bryan said this yesterday morning while he and Sarah were making cinnamon-sugar toast to go with our breakfast.
"Goodness gracious! Look what you did to my honeys!"
--Sarah shouted this last night when I put one of her little pillows on top of her babies in their crib. I will not make that mistake again! : )
"I think I know who did it! It was the security guard; he looks suspicious!"
--Sarah said this to my dad this morning while they were watching Scooby Doo.

Artwork by Sarah
Each day in Kindergarten, Sarah had to write a story and draw a picture. Now that summer is in full swing, I am organizing all of them. It is so fun to look through them and see what she drew.

Teacher Gifts
This morning, Sarah and I delivered gifts to her teachers. For her regular teacher, Mrs. McDaniel, Sarah picked out a coffee mug to go with a Starbucks gift card. Then we also bought her a gift card to Gloria's--her and her hubby's favorite restaurant. Sarah made her the sweetest card that we tucked down inside of the bag as well.

Work Party
At work yesterday, the office threw a surprise party for me and Ben, one of my good friends who is also leaving this week. (He is going to work at a Christian farm in Kansas City.)

Award Ceremony
This morning was Sarah's award ceremony at school. Bryan and I are so proud of her, yet we can't believe that she only has 2 days left of Kindergarten! She's growing up too fast!
Dinner with Friends
Last night, one of my dearest friends put together a going away dinner with some great friends from work! It was the most fun I've had in a long time! Laughter filled the air while we talked and reminisced. I will miss each of them like crazy!!
