On Friday while my family was in town, we went out to eat to celebrate my sister's birthday.

Coffee Outdoors
This morning before going to the grocery store, the kids and I went to a Starbucks with a great outdoor patio! Sarah and Jackson had pastries and watched the birdies!
Cooking with Sarah
Last night, Sarah cooked dinner. This week, she chose to make tomato soup with bacon and cheese panini. It was so yummy!!
Daddy-Daughter Date!
On Wednesday, Bryan was post-call, and since he got a fairly good amount of sleep while at the hospital the night before, he took Sarah on a date. They went to go see the "Judy Moody" movie. Sarah has checked out several of those books from our library, and she couldn't wait to see it! When they got home, Sarah said that the movie was excellent, whereas Bryan was bummed that there was no violence in it! : )

Great Job, Bryan!
Bryan never ceases to amaze me and the following are just a couple of examples why:
A few months ago, Bryan took the Comlex 3, a standardized test for his DO Medical Licensing. Due to the fact that he works 80+ hours each week, he only put in about 5 actual hours of studying for this exam. Other than that, he just relied on all that he learned in medical school and thus far in residency. In 5 of the categories, he literally scored off the charts, (see where there's an asterisk on the right side--off the charts!)! Because he did so well, his residency program put additional money into his book fund!

Last month, one of the doctors working on a call shift with Bryan wrote an email to the Chair of the Anesthesia Department and two of the faculty members praising the residents she was on call with:
"Dr. Crowder performed an awesome axillary block under ultrasound guidance as the primary anesthetic for surgery, was very receptive to suggestions and managed a variety of cases."
She went on to write:
"The best thing about the cases, was that each case seemed to have 2 to 4 Anesthesiology Residents in the room. The teamwork was so common that I had trouble figuring out who was doing the case! Not only did they help out in the OR and/or angio, but they were helping each other go to the ICU to bring patients down or attending to EC calls. They were all an absolute pleasure to work with."
The doctor did discuss each resident on call that night, not just Bryan, but he's the only one I figured y'all would care about!

As always, I am so proud of him!!
Birthday Gifts
Yesterday a package for Bubs arrived from Gramma and Paw Paw, (Bryan's grandparents in Georgia), so we let him open it early!

Father's Day!
Father's Day started with a drawing from Sarah
Bryan is the absolute best dad! He loves his kiddos to death and does everything from playing "Pretty, Pretty Princess" with Sarah to teaching Jackson how to catch a football, (yes, already!). I am so blessed to have him as my husband and the father of our children.

Father's Day Gift
Since Bryan's on call tonight, I thought I would share what the kids and I did for one of his Father's Day gifts. Last week, I took these pictures of Sarah and Jackson sitting in the rocking chair that he built for them:
Date Night and an Award!
Bryan and I went to the Anesthesiologist graduation tonight. Although it was a graduation with dozens of other people in attendance, it was our first date night in 5 months! We were both really excited about it! He opened my car door and everything...he's the best!!
LOVE date nights!

Cooking with Sarah
It's time for another edition of "Cooking with Sarah!" Last night, she made pasta with a pesto cream sauce and dump cake--one of Daddy's favorites!
Sarah was so proud of herself. She did everything: poured salt in the boiling water before putting the pasta in, stirring the pasta as it cooked, adding the ingredients into the food processor for the pesto, pureeing the pesto, chopping the tomatoes for the pasta, and stirring it all together!

Big Boy Car Seat!
For Jackson's birthday, Bryan's Nana bought him a new car seat that we picked out. Can you believe he's already big enough to need a new car seat?! I sure can't! Bryan installed it last night during halftime of the NBA finals (hot dog Mavs!!), and we tried it out this morning on the way to Target! We still need one for Bryan's truck, but for now, we'll just have to switch this between the two cars.
