4 Months Old!

Today, Jackson turns 4 months old!
4 month old cutie!

  • He talks a lot!
  • He drools constantly
  • He loves playing with his toys...and then putting them in his mouth
  • He loves nap time
  • He loves meal time even more than nap time!
  • He has started eating solid food--so far just rice cereal and bananas, but still!

Skeleton

This week in Sarah's GT class, they learned all about bones! So, when she came home with her skeleton, she and Daddy discussed the human body while I made dinner. It was too cute!
Notice how her skeleton has lipstick and a pearl necklace!!

Ice Cream Truck

Last night after dinner, PJ's, and brushing teeth, the ice cream truck came to our neighborhood. Now that would normally not mean a thing, but we've been promising Sarah that she could get something at the ice cream truck for awhile now. The truck only comes about once a month, and there is always something hindering us from running after it--dinner is just being put on the table, I'm nursing Jack, whatever. But last night, was Sarah's night!
I know it's silly, but she had been waiting for so long, I had to get a picture! The ice cream truck lady asked "With me or without me?" I didn't have the heart to tell her that I just wanted a picture of my daughter! Haha!! Sarah was so excited! Can you tell?! We told her that she had to wait until today to eat it, so she said that she was just going to dream about it last night!

Walking with Daddy

Daddy says the sooner I learn to walk, the sooner we can play football together!

Parent Teacher Conference

Today, I had a Parent Teacher Conference for Sarah. Her teacher, Mrs. Cockrell, said that she wishes she had a whole class full of Sarahs because she is such a kind and gifted student. A few times a year, they have reading tests to see where the students are in that area. Second graders should be reading about 60 words per minute at the beginning of the year, and about 90 words per minute at the end of the year. Sarah is currently reading over 130 words per minute. And while reading at that level, she is still able to predict what will happen in the story next and answer all of the questions after the story correctly. Mrs. Cockrell said that if she could move Sarah up to third grade already, she would! Bryan and I are so proud of her!
Also, while we were at her school today, Jackson flirted with her teacher and all of the ladies in the front office! What can I say, he's charming, just like his father!

Rice Cereal

Last night, we fed Jackson rice cereal for the first time. As much as we thought he would love finally getting "real" food, Bryan and I aren't sure how much he liked it!
After his first bite! He would smile so big when the spoon was on it's way to his mouth, but once it got there, this was his face!

Lovin' on Jackson

We snapped a few of pictures while we were enjoying a family walk at the outdoor mall:
My favorite little man! He looks like he's laughing in this one...
...in this one, he looks like he's saying, "Help me, Daddy! The girls are crazy!"

Build-A-Bear!

Since both Bryan and Sarah were off today, we went back to the outdoor mall so Sarah could make a new stuffed animal at Build-A-Bear.
Sarah helping to stuff her friend! Introducing Tickly Pink. Sarah bought her and her ball gown with her own money.

Gig Em' Aggies!

Even though Jackson was ready for the Aggie football game on Saturday, they still lost....
Future Aggie!

Sarah made a new friend while petting Lasso, the horse.
Sarah just adores horses!
Jack really liked looking at all of the animals at the petting zoo, especially this goat.
(The bottle I'm holding is only the second one he's ever had...and it was not his favorite! Haha!)
Daddy working on the scarecrow while Sarah was gathering hay!
Teamwork!

3 Months Old!

Jackson is 3 months old today! We can hardly believe it!
3 month old cutie! This is the second time Jack has taken a ride on Daddy's shoulders, and although his face doesn't look like it here, he really does like it!
Jackson loves spending time with Sarah...
...and she loves spending time with him right back!

  • He smiles constantly
  • He loves watching football with Bryan--he'll get really quiet and just stare at the TV from Daddy's lap!
  • He likes looking at the pictures when we read books with Sarah
  • He talks all the time
  • He loves holding things, then putting them in his mouth!
  • He makes us so happy!

Bath Time

Over the past few weeks, Jackson has started liking bath time more. It's still not his favorite, but he no longer cries during it!
While we're bathing him, he usually sucks on his fists. As soon as we wrap him in the towel, he gets the biggest smile on his face!

Family Fun!

Since we came back from vacation early, we decided to make today a family fun day!! We went to an outdoor mall a few minutes away from our house and really enjoyed spending time all together!
Jack in his stroller at the food court--looking cute, as always! Then, we went to Build-A-Bear and let Sarah pick out a stuffed animal to make for Jackson! Jack craning his neck so he could watch his big sister and his new puppy. Adorable!
Sarah with Jack's puppy that she named Smudge.
Afterwards, we got ice cream and enjoyed the cool weather outside.
Then, Sarah played at the park.
So pretty!
