Saturdays are for sleeping in, good morning hugs, light saber battles, buttermilk pancakes from scratch, bacon and sausage, brownie points from Bryan for two kinds of breakfast meats, worship music playing in the background, and enjoying time together. Saturdays are my favorite.

Jackson and Mommy
I sure love my Jackson.
I hope he always wants me to carry him.
He's newest thing is kissing my nose. It's kind of my favorite.
Jackson always tells me that he loves me with straight hair and glasses. So yesterday before our date, I took out my contacts and put on my glasses! Maybe I'll wear jammies on our next date!
This morning Jackson and I were twinning with some truth!
Sick Sarah
Sarah was really sick at the beginning of this week. She actually stayed home from school on Monday and Tuesday because she felt so bad.
I hated her being sick, but I did love the time we were able to spend together! We ate lunch while watching Netflix together, and she would go with me in the afternoon to pick up J. It was so fun having some one-on-one time with my baby girl!

French Night
We haven't had a theme night in awhile, so last night, we did French night!
We had crepes--my favorite!
We also had mini quiche,
French cheeses with a French baguette,
palmiers,
more macaroons than we knew what to do with,
and French soda!
We had so much fun eating basically dessert for dinner!

Jackson and Mommy
While Daddy and Sissy were gone this weekend, Jackson and I had a great time together!
On Saturday, we went to Barnes and Noble to spend some of his Christmas money. Then, we went to dinner and got frozen yogurt for dessert!
Sunday morning, we played with Legos!
We made Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader! I just love building with him!
Then, we made a rice krispie treat train!
After we mixed everything up and put it in the train mold, Jackson decorated it!
He loved this part!
His tongue sticking out kills me!
On Monday morning, before we had to pick up Daddy and Sarah, we watched a movie and had popcorn for breakfast!
We really missed Bryan and Sarah, but we had a lovely weekend together!
Church Camp
On Saturday, Papa Bear and Sarah left for church camp! This is the second camp Bryan's attended as a leader. He had 13 boys in his group--and one of them was Sarah's boyfriend!
They had an amazing time! At winter camp a year ago, Sarah felt God calling her into ministry. Yesterday when I picked them up, she told us that after this camp, she truly knows that's what God wants her to do. It was almost more than my Mama heart could take! Bryan and I can't wait to see how God uses her--we know it's going to be amazing!
Daddy snapped this one of Sarah for me!
To welcome them home yesterday, I made one of their favorite desserts!
They really missed each other!

Dinner
Papa Bear was on call last night, so I took the kids to dinner. Shortly after we sat down at our table, I had to go back to the front for something. As I was waiting, I looked over to check on the kiddos and they were too cute talking and laughing together. It was one of those simple, yet perfect moments that I never want to forget.
I hope they're always the best of friends.

My Best
A couple of years ago, Jackson said, "you're my best" to me, and I thought it was one of the greatest things I'd ever heard. Today, instead of writing it on notes in the kids' lunches, I thought they'd like it in cookie form! They really are my best!

Second Tooth
Jackson lost his second tooth yesterday! It's been loose for a bit now, but he was determined to lose it at school so he could get another tooth necklace!
He's the cutest!

Mommy Son Dance
Last night, Jackson and I went to a Mommy Son Dance! We've both been looking forward to this for a couple of months now!
We got Jackson's little suit a few weeks ago, and he picked out my dress from my closet! He chose the one with all the sequins!
I just love him!
When I came out of my bedroom in my dress, Jackson said I was so pretty! Then, after Daddy took our pictures, he helped me put my coat on and immediately started holding my hand as we walked to the garage. He opened the door for me and said, "ladies first!" He actually says that every day, but I loved it even more on our special date! Papa Bear told him to be a gentleman and have me back by 9:00!
We got our pictures made when we got to the dance, and then he reached out his hand for mine, and said, "this way, my lady" as he walked me to the dance floor. We danced to a slow song, and he put one hand in mine, and the other mistakenly on my bootie! I thought I was going to die it was so cute!! When they (and by "they" I mean Jackson's PE teacher!) played fast songs, Jackson and his friends busted a move! He literally spun around on the floor more times than I could count!
His tongue out kills me!
During our last dance, I actually held him, and I loved every sweet second of it! It was the best night!
Snow Day Date
It snowed on Friday, and when I picked Jackson up from school, he thanked God for it! It was so sweet! When we got home, we ran around in it for a couple of minutes, and then got cold and went inside to build Legos!
By the time we picked up Sarah, the snow had stopped. Papa Bear was on call that night, so I took the kids to see a movie and then out to dinner. Sarah carried Jackson on the way to the theatre because his feet were too tired to walk! I hope she always carries him. I hope he always calls her Sister. And I hope he always wears rain boots!

Sweetness
Last night while Bryan and I were picking up after dinner, Sarah and Jackson started hugging each other before they each went to take their showers. They are the sweetest!
Thankful
Thankful. When we got home from school yesterday, Jackson found a box full of cars that belonged to Bryan when he was little (and were rediscovered this weekend when we were cleaning the garage). Jackson repeatedly thanked Daddy for his new cars, and he started racing them all over the kitchen. Bryan and I just stood there watching him play, and we were both so thankful. Thankful for our sweet boy, thankful for his precious older sister, and thankful for this amazing life we've built together. Sometimes it's the simplest things that make us stop and thank God.
Jackson started racing his cars on the shelf with the "thankful" sign on his own! It was so sweet and perfectly summed up the little moment, that I had to grab the camera.
He sure does love his new cars.
